Here's a quick overview of the latest version of the PVC DSLR Shoulder Rig that I've been using for the last few months.
The rig is setup with all the same components and dimensions as the original, but I've replaced the conduit box with a 'cross-section' and secured a quick release plate with a 1/4-20 bolt.

Built my rig with my son. Awesome. Instead of using the cross, I put two T-joints to put the camera in line with my eyes. And then I added MTB bar grips on the handles to make it look pro'ish. Thanks for the video.

I painted mine with textured paint made special for plastic lawn furniture and it looks great! The texture makes it look like it's metal.

(not shown in this video) but I typically mount the camera with a battery grip, which raises it an additional 2inches.

So I have the same quick release adapter that is on your rig, is it only one screw you mounted the adapter to your rig with no nut?

Very cool man, I like that you built your own rig and it goes to show you don't have to spend ridiculos amounts of money on buying those spendy aluminium ones. Also I would like to know what cannon camera I should go for cause I would like to start making my own high quality vids on youtube and was looking at getting a second hand cannon 5D mk2 body only and then buy an all round type lens. can you please steer me in the right direction. +Scott LaTour The grips in this video are cheap foam grips, I prefer rubber grips with ergonomics like the Bell Anatomic Bike Grips

Hey Knoptop, love your vids. I have all but made my shoulder rig but am waiting for the conduit to arrive from USA!! Now I'd prefer a cross section to complete it, but can't seem to find one anywhere! Also, I've used 21.5mm pvc tubing, have I made a schoolboy error here? Is that why I can't find a cross section piece? Can anyone help? Anyone?? Anyone???

Update: The conduit box arrived, I bolted a quick release plate to it, glued the tubes into the conduit box and it's finished! Chuffed to bits! Thanks Knoptop, you're a star!
