AJ's demeanor in this scene is really telling. He shows no enthusiasm over college when earlier in the show he gleefully said he wanted to go to harvard or west point but tony shot it down. Then here he is proud to have earned a C on his paper when he was never a good student, and Carmela immediately insults the grade, and AJ's look of pride drops. C is an average grade and AJ is a below average student. Belittling his achievements, no matter how small, completely shatters his self confidence.

@Jaegar19Ultima What a dumbass and ill-informed comment. Plenty of poor students work hard and earn academic scholarships proving that poor doesn't make you less smart. The only link between being poor and intelligence would be access to proper nutrition during growing years and good schools (which encourage critical thinking and other necessary skills). But as I said that can and has been negated by scholarship programs and other ways to access healthy food. Nature only gives a predisposition but nurture and environment can provide the rest.

Edie Falco is not only hot, but an incredibly brilliant actress. The scene with her, Rosie Aprille and Meadow when they are talking about Vito being gay. The way she pauses, and then rolls her eyes as she says the words “possibly gay,” is a priceless expression of someone who personally has a ‘holier than thou’ attitude towards everyone else, yet enjoys to ‘burn the source’ with everybody else!

God this is fucking funny. The way Tony says “no offense” and then “you’re not? to the guy who isn’t gay, and the way Meadow looks at him. And then when the girl talks about the passage in Billy Budd and AJ says “really?”, Tony just shifts straight to his usual anger at AJ: “Thought you read it!” Then as Carmela makes a scene and everyone is embarrassed , Tony looking like he couldn’t give less of a shit.
