I had my dance teacher who taught me dance as a kid watch a compilation of Jimin's dances, he said he did all these dance styles very professionally, and then he saw the Black Swan performance and asked me why this guy was so great. . Then he said is this man real and he laughed, so surprising, why did I meet such a great dancer so late? A really great source of inspiration for my students. Jimin's dance is really on another level, he's a great artist, it's impossible not to admire him. And now whenever I go to see my dance teacher, there is always a break for the kids to watch Jimin dance. He talks so well about Jimin and his skills that it's really nice to hear so many compliments and nice comments for Jimin's talent from people who are proficient in this craft. For the first time in my life I am so proud of a foreigner❤⭐⭐⭐⭐

I agree with you - their intention is different. I did see an interview that Bang PD did that he said they added the 7th member as a capstone to the group - to add that extra to make them stand out. So you were right in your assumption that Jimin adds the sparkle. He is just so different from your usual run of the mill K-Pop Idol. I think Jimin and Hobi spent many nights discussing dance in their shared room and their passion for dance is definitely a bond they share closer than the others. They spent time all along the journey practicing and leaning on each other on the dance floor. I am very interested to see what Jimin gives us after his mood photo dropped today - thrills and chills to follow I think! ❤

I think the difference between JHope and Jimin is that even in the most energetic dances Jimin manages to be graceful, and most likely because of his experience with contemporary dance, so even dancing hip-hop, for example, he manages to show a delicacy, however, very precise movements that lead to a unique style of dancing. As well as looks, voice, and talent in general, are unique when it comes to Jimin. Hobi is an excellent dancer, you can't help but recognize his innate talent for dancing, and this duo complements each other both on stage and in life as best friends.

Jimin originally learned popping, locking and hip hop. He was competing in street dance battles since childhood. The contemporary only came after that, so it's not that Jimin is the "contemporary" and j-hope is the hip hop. Jimin is BOTH. He is the most versatile dancer in the industry and he doesn't just dance every style, he mastered every style. A legend.

They are both so talented but in a different way. Actually if i had to choose i couldn't. They like to dance, they like to perform. In my opinion, J Hope feel the beat in his bones, he is the embodiement of the rythm. Energetic. Jimin express in his dance the emotion he feels/ or want to portray, with the music and lyrics. Graceful. They are both incredible dancers ! But I like Jimin's dance style the most, because he is a "story teller" dancer, poetry in action. He has something magic when he dance, he grabs you and take you in a magic bubble , full of beauty and grace, for a little moment. I enjoy watching Hobi's dancing performance or practice , but Jimin mesmerize me EACH time, I can't take my eyes off him, and I even forgot to breathe sometimes Lol !

I love how RM described Jimin and Jk. He said, JK is the main, he has lots of parts, and the stage revolves around Jimin. It’s the perfect definition to what you were saying, he is such a power house, there isn’t another Jimin. 💜 In my opinion, this is one major reason why Jimin and JK are always together especially during practices for concerts, why these two stay later than the others. I completely agree with you. Jhope dances to entertain and generate energy into the performance and project it to the audience. He's "crazy, sexy, cool" and his swagger in his delivery of his moves and bars is pure hip hop. He owns his fashion icon status because he literally slays in everything he wears. Jimin knows the choreography so well that he just doesn't execute it.....he makes you experience it with him. He is so relaxed and immerses himself instantly into the music because he feels it on a deeper level. He interprets it with his beautiful lines, languid yet powerful and precise moves. He seduces us simply because his movements are so complex, breathtaking and fluid. His perfectly proportioned body literally speaks to us when he dances, walks, runs, sleeps, or just standing there. On top of that he oozes sex appeal out of every pore and his every performance transmits sensuality in the special way he dances( he can't help it. Its innate) You see it in the way he shrugs his shirt off that left shoulder, the way he licks his lips, the way he moves his fingers, and that come hither look he gives us everytime he looks at the camera. He has mastered all of that and if he ever finds the confidence we know he has to performance solo....he's going to kill us all. He is the heir apparent to Prince. He just has to own it. Someone needs to commission a statue of this once in a lifetime phenomenon.

Good video! I want the link. Jimin started with hiphop. And martial arts. Then he did contemporary only in highschool... so not much more than 2-3 years actually, but very intensively at that...when suddenly switching to early BTS, he had to reorient himself...in the end, he is an incredibly versatile dancer. Undoubtedly, he has certain elements of grace, elongation, the way he'll often let the move hit only at the very end of the beat to sort of accentuate it...lots of contemporary flavor. But you can't easily say "jimin is contemporary, jhope is hiphop"...Jimin is his own art style! Especially because bts try out all styles in their choreos...well have to see what Face brings us. He's also contemp, but also more.....also jhope, from my limited dance knowledge has a strong background in bugaloo, krumping, he'd take house dance lessons with worldfamous choreogrpahers even after joining bts, etc...these are some elements which separate his style from Jimins. Either, I adore watching them dance together. I love it I love it I love it. Jihope are such good friends, they bring out joy in each other, even when they are dancing together! So in sync, but so independently awesome..thats peanut butter and jelly there. Seriously, the jihope "on the street" challenge was my favorite so far

J-Hope and Jimin are incredible dancers. They both dance very beautifully but each in his own style. Even when they have to dance the same choreography, it can be seen that they attack it with a different vibe. With J-Hope, one can see his hip-hop training even when he is dancing a modern dance; while with Jimin, you can very well see that he has that contemporary and ballet training which he incorporates into the dance. The way he dances with his fingertips and legs shows so much of this training. His jumps and twirls also show that he has martial arts training which makes him a very unique and stylish. I love how J-Hope dances but I guess between the two, Jimin will have more possibility to explore other dances than J-Hope due to his incredible versatility. Kudos to both of them!

Sincerely, jimin and jhope are my favorite dancers. I really don't understand why some people try to compare them and figure out which is the best. For me, their dance styles are different. And even though Jimin also dances hip pop, his dance style is different, you always have the impression that in each movement, he puts a touch of contemporary dance. I love Jimin's style and I love J Hope's as well. And actually, that's what appealed to me the most about bts. Each member is different whether it is in terms of voice, dance or personality. I really enjoy JHope’s dancing. He brings a lot of energy and precision, and I can see it; I can feel it, and it’s really fun to watch Jhope. I don’t think anyone can dispute how amazing he is, and I wholeheartedly agree. Jimin, on the other hand, as soon as he dances, he totally consumes me… I am so enthralled that I can’t even think for myself if Jimin is technically good or not. Jimin is so captivating in so many various genres of dance forms, and he interprets, conveys his storytelling through his gaze, face expressions, his time bending fluid (crazy control over muscle isolation) but yet powerful and crisp dance movements. What makes Jimin so special is his ability to blend his contemporary and hip hop dancing. They require a specific set of skills but he found a way to blend them together in a way I have never seen before. He's similar to Michael Jackson in that way.. he took two totally different dance styles and invented his own style. Pair that with his beautiful and unique voice... It's PURE ART!

DT, I think your description is right about their dancing. Although I would describe it as Jhope is dancing for the performance, while Jimin dances to tell a story. That's how contemporary dance is performed in general. But Jimin's soft moves and like you said the "extra" that he adds makes him an unstoppable dancer. IKR and he is supposed to be Jimin biased. I have to keep schooling these morons who are commenting thinking they know what they are talking about, saying Jhope excells in this compared to Jimin who just does this, when Jimin can do everything Jhope does and more with perfection. Don't get me wrong, I love Jhope and he is a good dancer but he is nowhere on the level of Jimin's dance prowess, that is why it is so unfair to do this ridiculous comparison. So you are trying to say that Jhope is other people that shouldn't be compare with Jimin, and what is the problem if they compare the two because at least they are in one group. Yes you may like Jimin because clearly you are Jimin bias and prefer his style of dance but it does not mean Jhope is also bad and cannot be compare with him. These two are very talented and good at dancing. Eventhough i do not like the comparison but you shouldn't have said what you said because is as if you are downgrading Jhope by calling him others. As far as what is going on with Hobi's shirt. That is a concert/ performance shirt and they are made that way for easier removal and putting on. They barely have 3 minutes or less, sometimes, to change their outfits between songs or sets, so this helps tremendously because you don't have to worry as much about trying to pull a dry shirt over a hoso t sweaty body. Their is a reason why Jimin can change outfits
