Hey straight up, ive watched tons of youtube videos on everything from movie clips to music to how to build a go kart to cooking spaghetti noodles perfectly, with that said this is the single best made video i have yet to see on KZbin, fantastic job, very well presented. I would dare to say pefect

Thanks man! the tip about reversing the direction was great, of course. and the end, with the in-depth diagram was super helpful, ESPECIALLY when you say "3 wires in 1 wirenut". Still fairly green to this so that sort of explanation/visual is great. thanks again.

also tip, at my work we have to use a bunch of tape on top of the wire nuts. so to reverse you can go to where the power is feeding and flip the leads there to reverse it

Excellent video. Exactly what I was looking for. However, are those aluminum wires in the motor? Or tinned copper? If you're hooking up aluminum to copper, which you shouldn't do, you need to use special AL-CU marked wire splicing connectors or wirenuts, the purple stuff, to avoid connecting Dissimilar Metals. NEC 110.14 .

Hello I have a question. I have two basically identical independent loads, and a 48v battery and motor controller. I can't seem to find 48v motors with small enough wattage, so I was wondering if there's a way to use two 24v motors in series? These are brushless, and like I said each is handling a separate roughly identical load.

question if you can help me running a VFD with this motor I have 3hp model number EM3611T. i want to power it with a house hold 220/240 single phase power converted to 3ph 230v. the VFD from amazon i want get says it puts out 3 phase 220v not 230v? my motor is 3hp 230/460v

Please *confirm and clarify* the following; Is it possible to connect dual motor control panel of 3 phase (*two Numbers* of panel) for single pump set motor??

Great job. Are the wires coming out of the motor always numbered, or do you have to figure that out?
@RH-ng9qm2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the tags have fallen off. You can use a multi-meter set to ohms to identify them.

Great video. I have been looking for information on how to wire up a 3 phase motor that I am using for a 2x72 inch belt grinder I am building along with a VFD for step-down and speed control. Just looking at a chart with a bunch of numbers, letters, non of which match what are on all of the wires that are coming out of the motor was impossible. I now see that the letters don't mean anything and it is the numbers that are important along with the high voltage vs low voltage. Not sure why they do not just use the voltage i.e. 220 or 440, but regardless most folks will always use low voltage no matter what it is. The VFD is another story, the letters are important and they are different depending on the model that you get (this video will help with that - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH-lYYqlr6ugepY). Anyway, thanks for the video it helped me greatly!

How come the rest of the wires didn’t come factory connected?...
@youngdust67304 жыл бұрын
becuase you can wire it up in 240v three phase or 460v three phase, different voltage, different pinout connections
@Oscarbm12344 жыл бұрын
@@youngdust6730 I’m sorry... I’m not familiar with heavy duty motors. How would they be able to wire it up as a 230v motor?.... would a run cap be necessary?....
@youngdust67304 жыл бұрын
@@Oscarbm1234 yes itll wire up to 208-230-240v as long as you use the right connections. no you never use capacitors because the torque on a threephase is so much better than single, besides a capacitor moves the sine waves closer as to where you would just adjust the frequency in a three phase motor using a variable frequency drive
@markschelkle45343 жыл бұрын
@@Oscarbm1234 three phase induction motors don't require start or run capacitors because the three phase magnetic field is always rotating and thus the motor is self starting. (This is a huge advantage over single phase motors) To wire for 208/480V you just change which taps are tied together. These taps are connected to the windings and will make the windings be either in parallel or in series.
@RB-xv4si3 жыл бұрын
@@markschelkle4534 exactly right. Wire them in parallel for the low voltage input and series for the higher voltage input. It would have been helpful in this video if he showed how the motor windings were configured (delta or wye) and how the connections looked different between the high and low voltage input. It would give a deeper understanding.
