@@RRCRestorationI'm having a problem with my1995 916. It's developed a leak at the seam of the 2 bottom engine cases . Is it worth tearing the engine apart to repair or should I just ride it and re fill the engine oil?? I'm concerned about oil on the rear tire and an accident because of the oil. I've been quoted 4k plus to do the job. I have the money but I'm worried he may be taking advantage of me because he knows I want it repaired more than not repaired. What do you suggest and what do you think a fair amount would be in U.S. dollars???? It also needs the stator replaced because it's burned out so I couldn't drive it until that's repaired anyway. What is your advice??? Thanks, Chris

Fabulous, I still don't think that in the 20 odd years since the 916 arrived, anyone has come close to creating a bike anywhere near as beautiful, AND IT'S YELLOW!

The only other bike from this era as beautiful was the MV Agusta F4.

I totally agree its just gorgeous from every angle, The F4 was stunning in its own right but i think the 916 just has the edge in my eyes anyway.

Looking forward to this one. A wee tip for you. When you're spraying yellow I highly recommend using white primer. Yellow basecoat has terrible covering power and needs a lot of coats. Starting with a white background makes everything that follows a lot easier
