Thanks for bringing the History of LBW laws. As correctly said that the leg pads were permitted to a batter only to safeguarding from injuries. However, the batter cannot use this as a weapon. In my opinion my view is whether the ball would hit the stumps? ( Other than pitching on the leg stump which is called BLIND SPOT) if it hits, then no second thought other than to give a batter to out. I think this law need not be changed but still should be tightened. I have plenty of real stories behind this decision. Many umpires and batter have exchanged heat words on the ground.

Referring to CH Gayle controversial DRS decision in yesterdays' CWC match against AUS, considering the spirit of the game, can every delivery before the wicket-taking delivery (excluding run-out) be checked for the no-ball (checking all of over-stepping, waist height ball, failing to implement the field restrictions if any) and rule out that particular wicket-taking delivery as a dead ball in case if the previous delivery is found to be a no-ball. Can you explain the effects and find out a better solution to this problem?
@TheCricketDigest4 жыл бұрын
Well, there is no such system that is entirely foolproof. For example, DRS for LBW was brought in to eliminate umpiring howler but it has created its own problem. Hawk-eye which is used for LBW decisions has its own error due to which umpire's call had to be introduced. Just like humans, the game can't be perfect!

Will there be decrease in net run rate after winning a match. Eg. In world cup NZ runrate after the 1st match is 5.754 but after winning the 2nd match NRR is 2.279. How is it possible
@TheGloriousTeam_nTn5 жыл бұрын
Net run rate (NRR) is calculated by The winning team run rate-losing team run rate So if the losing team net run run is higher then this could happen .....you can check more about this in google

The NRR in a single game is the average runs per over that team scores, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them. If a cricket match gets interrupted, say due to rain, certain amount of time will be lost. When the match resumes, you will not have as much time you had it before the interruption. Due to this reason, the number of overs will be reduced. Now that number of over has been reduced, the target needs to be reduced as well(if the second batting is in progress). This reduced target is called as revised target.

@@divyanshubhartiya5323 Yes, but I did not say DL method anywhere. I just want to know if there is a development in the calculation techniques well enough to properly support both teams in such situations. I still doubt this technique as net run rate is not accounted in calculations. Also, runs progression of both teams for each over should have been considered. E.g. First batting team might have scored most of its runs in its last few overs. And second batting team may achieve the same. This criterion is not considered.
@TheCricketDigest5 жыл бұрын
This was a least productive over method in which the target was revised in such a way that the least productive over for the team batting 1st were removed if the match gets shortened by 1 over, if the match gets shortened by 2 overs then 2 least productive overs were removed. To this one run was added to form the target. South Africa needed 22 runs off 13 balls and after the initial interruption it was reduced to 22 off 7 (the least productive over, a maiden, being deducted) and finally 21 off 1 ball (the next least productive over having given 1 run) and one extra run was added to the total i.e SA had to chase finally 22 runs of 1 ball.

Your question is not clear. R2 (the resource available for the team batting second. Afghanistan is batting second) is 90.5 according to the D-L table. @TheCricketDigest5 жыл бұрын
It is very difficult to explain everything but in short, Pakistan had lost 13.5% of their resource because of rain (loss of 10 overs with 4 wickets remaining gives us this value from D-L table). Target was reduced by 13.5% of India's score which gives us the target of 291. However actual target was 302 which is derived from Duckworth-Lewis-Stern(DLS) method. When the score is more than 300 DLS method differs significantly from DL method.
