This is an entertaining Duel. However, I noticed that there was a missing part where Kaiba uses Shrink to cut Gearfried's Attack Points in half...otherwise known as "Mini-Gearfried."

Yeah, Marik's third turn was skipped. He summons Dark Jeroid, lower's Gearfried's attack, attacks Gearfried. Joey halves Dark Jeroid's attack with Skull Dice, followed by the move you mentioned.

Strategy-wise, the most logical reason for him not doing that is that the four-way format honestly makes it much harder to ensure one doesn't lose, with how few turns each duelist gets and how quickly they burn through their resources to keep themselves protected. And Maria's deck is focused on slower torture and getting out his god card, which work much worse when you've got attacks coming from three directions. Though worth noting, Marik decides the rules for each Shadow Duel anyway - in his one against the Pharaoh, his good half was the sacrificial lamb, after all.

Pretty sure Kaiba would’ve lost. Don’t get me wrong, Kaiba is a talented duelist, but with just Obelisk he would’ve never stood a chance. The sad truth is, anyone who was going to face Marik now was going to lose no matter who was chosen.

There’s also the fact that YamiMarik barely took any damage compared to how Joey got hurt ALL the time during their duel.

The funny thing here is Marik actually took most damage thanks to being screwed by Kaiba's moves while Joey wanted to deal with Kaiba, yet Kaiba mopped them both big time, but it was fun to see Wheeler making fun of him with Gearfried. 19:03 OUCH!!! Now if anyone thought Marik could beat Kaiba in 1 on 1, this one took most LP, including the fact Joey redirected Ring of Destruction, so basically Kaiba was the one eliminating Marik. Gilfer attacked against Kaiba, but Attack Guidance Armor switched it to Lord Poison causing 700 damage, then Kaiba attacked Marik with Blade Knight dealing 1600 and finally Joey helped it with Graverobber on Ring of Destruction for additional 1700. Funny, but it happened exactly as Kaiba wanted it, besides not quite going as he wanted it exactly to wipe Joey first.

It's a good thing this wasn't a Shadow Game, because the fate of the world could've been decided here. If Yami were smart, he'd convince Kaiba and Joey to all take on Marik together. Kaiba would be for it, because if Marik loses, he faces the second loser, who would be Joey. Except Marik would be sent to the Shadow Realm anyhow.

Right? I mean Kaiba usually only uses monsters with high ATK, as in 1700 and above. Sure, there are a couple of exceptions like Cyber Jar, but Cyber Jar can be used in a pinch. Feral Im on the other hand is pretty much useless. It was back then, during Yi-Gi-Oh's first iteration, and it's even more so now, in these days. Granted, there are plenty other cards from the first days of Yu-Gi-Oh that are also simply too weak and/or useless to play with nowadays.

One glaring problem that kept me from loving the series, is when they would talk too much and go to flashbacks about stuff over and over again. I thought it was funny when I watched an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s where Yusei and Kalin were in the Crash Town, and I forgot who the guy was, but he so frustrated about there being too much talking, that he said “Don’t say anything. Let’s duel, not talk!”

I genuinely think ANYONE could beat Marik. The only reason he was strong was because of the Winged Dragon of Ra. Mai Valentine would have beaten him if she hadn't tried to play Ra because of the chant on the card. If she'd attacked with the harpie ladies she would have won. It’s not hard to see why there is SO MUCH monologuing in this show. Without it duels would last maybe 5-10 minutes. Definitely wouldn’t last 2-4 episodes each and the season would be maybe 15 episodes rather than 40-50
