FYI: “what changed” was consent. She consented to and was comfortable with having that moment trying on clothes with him, and/or any strangers looking on (in the latter case, this likely being people she’d never see or need to interact with again). She did not consent to do so in front of school peers and in fact explicitly stated she did not want that. Consent is what changed..

it’s mind over matter. a lot of people don’t realize, even when they point it out to themselves but the things that we watch have a huge impact on us. most people are highly oblivious to it, but it happens everyday. from TikTok, to KZbin, to movies and shows, so much of it is horrible for our minds. many people have trouble over thinking and have anxiety already, the things we watch don’t help when they plant ideas in our head. it’s difficult for a lot of people to watch something or have an idea put into their head and NOT think about it. you just have to remind yourself that life shouldn’t be about comparing yourself to others. sure, we all do it. but all we have is time. it’s best to try and overcome those tendencies and love ourselves

Keep getting tested please 🙏. My cousin had a high fever for two days and kept getting negative results. She got a positive result on the third day. She didn't want to believe it at first but then she lost her smell and taste. Covid or not I hope you recover soon.

the problem i find with the "talks down to bullies" thing is how how scripted it feels. Like, most of the movies like these have scripts yeah but the dialogue more often than not comes across naturally and then... the protag has this whole ass speech about how they are better than the bully because they are kind. It's so faaaake.

Honestly I watched this yearssss ago, but I've also rewatched it so many times. It's so good and I love how she didn't need to have a HUGE makeover. She become more confident and wore "better " clothes and found herself. I loved that.

i like the movie’s writing, and i think it’s quite underrated (tho i wouldn’t call it a masterpiece), but if i’m honest when feeling insecure it’s kind of a comfort film. idk, it’s silly but it makes it feel ok to not be or feel socially considered as pretty, and she doesn’t go through an unrealistic unachievable glow up to just make you feel inadequate

Everytime you start to freak out over glee references it makes me want to see a movie review of the Moulin Rouge from you. It is one of my favorites for some reason I think it has the cheesiness as well as a really cute love story that you would go gaga over. :)

It is soooo good and so underrated and deserves a lot more credit for the comedy and the romance. I'm literally so happy I found this video today. Also yesss you and Dylan should definitely do a collab like it would be awesome!!
