i think the movie nailed the “gen z” type humour because it doesn’t take itself too seriously and thrives on its own self-awareness, if that makes sense? i think that them having a solely platonic relationship was actually very important to the story, its meant to show that lesbians don't fall in love w every girl they're friends with, and that they can have normal platonic but close friendships like this, which i feel is not presented well in a lot of other forms of media

I did enjoy this movie a lot, but Drea and Eleanor coming back together as friends at the end was a little rushed. Someone in the comments of another video suggested that the ending would have been stronger if they’d been more tentative about hanging out again and working to be better people. Or alternatively if the movie had ended by committing to them being in a toxic, unhealthy friendship and dropped the love interests as a consequence of their scheming. I agree with that honestly.

i really really adore the concept and i think it prompts the audience to examine their own morals and limits so well. When the plot twist was revealed and everything unraveled itself in how intertwined it all was I got so stressed and was contemplating whether I even wanted to continue watching and I think thats perfect because it really causes the individual viewer to ask themselves why they feel uncomfortable at certain points, or where they pull the switch in feeling this iffy about it all. Its so morally grey and I think it really needed to be, there are so many clashing situations and there isn't really a correct right or wrong for any of the characters (except for max thank god he got teared apart), and I think its so well developed in prompting this exploring of your own values and how you determine if something is too far, or if something isn't right. I was so surprised it was a netflix original lmao. I think it's so great how everything was intertwined and tied itself together and the concept of it all being so much more morally complex and the intention of having the viewer really have to examine their own values makes it so much more encapsulating and interesting, like acrually love the concept so much its crazy

Went into this movie thinking it was going to be cringy, but I absolutely loved it! I haven’t really enjoyed a movie this much in a while. Definitely one of my new favorites.

I’m with you Trin. I was here for them falling in love at the end. They were both so twisted to me they couldn’t be with anybody else. Plus I love when these obsessive toxic female friendships have a hint of sexual tension in them. Of course I wanna see positive queer relationships but in this movie where everyone was morally gray there was no point sparing us the stereotype of the two leads ending up together. It was full of so many other tropes I wanted it to deliver on this one as well.

This is a great review, but I never felt the two lead women were in love. They definitely just felt like best friends.

I think the ONLY criticism I have of this movie is that I wish there was more to their reconciliation. Idk why but it felt rushed.

I thought they ended up as frenimies because they don't trust each other at all. Like they were headed toward lovers for a bit but ultimately they just ended up with mutal respect for their insanity 😂

I really thought eleanor and drea were gonna end up together with the amount of chemistry they had together. But this movie was such a wild ride and I'm here for it
