This is fantastic! I watch a ton of you tubers many of which lift 500lb plus in deadlift and they make it sound like just lift and rip the weight and you’ll be fine. I really enjoyed you slowing this down to simplify the lift . I suffer from chronic back pain from a near fatal car accident so I’ve been slowly recovering my back back to normal .

I have to repeat what a lot of people already said…this is soooo helpful and perfectly explained! I stopped my search after watching this video. I’m trying to add a variety of these lower body exercises and sometimes get confused with all the different types of squats out there. Question: are there any squats that require sitting straight down? I always thought sumo squats were meant to be performed that way but I’m just not sure how to lower my butt down for these. Btw, your camera angles and mirror are SUPER helpful! So many youtubers don’t do this which makes learning proper form very difficult! Thanks for the great videos ❤

You're a good teacher I appreciate your help. I'm 58, have trained in a low key way all my life and hope to continue doing so until I tap out. I like the dumbbell deadlift - it feels more natural and easier on my knees, etc, than the conventional barbell lift. I also sometimes lock out my legs and just work my lower back and glutes- I don't know if you like the sound of this? I have subscribed and will work through your videos.

I mainly found this video looking for a proper way for me to lift dumbbells off the ground for farmer carries. I’ve slowly developed some lower back pain most likely due to improper form getting the weight off the ground. Gonna try some of these tips as soon as I heal up. Any tips on how to keep my lower back from rounding? I need to get really low to grab the dumbbells and it’s almost impossible to not have my lower back round up. I think that’s what caused my lower back pain. Thanks

Thanks for writing in! For all lifts, not just with the Deadlift, it's all about engaging your core. When you flex your mid-section, your back naturally straightens to help support your spine. Try it right now and see! This is especially important with the DL to help protect your back. Best of luck! -The FFP Team

Thank you! I have a question, and it would be very kind if you could answer it. What are the main differences in technique between the dumbbell squat and the dumbbell deadlift? They seem very similar. What makes a deadlift a deadlift, and what makes a squat a squat?
@Fitfatherproject
@Fitfatherproject 2 ай бұрын
Great question! If you break it down, they do have subtle differences. The DB Squat is a movement where you will start lower, pushing the total weight off the floor. Your torso will be more vertical. The DB Deadlift will keep your hips higher, pulling the total weight off the floor. Your torso will be more flat. So your hips will play a larger role with the DL compared to the Squat. Hope that help! -The FFP Team

@@Fitfatherproject I really appreciate your explanation. Could you please clarify which movement we initiate first in both of these exercises? For example, in the squat, do we begin by bending the knees, and in the deadlift, do we start by bending the back?

This was very helpful. I always struggled with the dumbbell deadlift which is part of my program I'm doing. Now after watching this I think I know what I was doing wrong.

Great video! The traditional DL can also be done by using power band (reistance band) correct? How much kg will the ultra heavy band (kettler) equivalent to? Thanks

Hey Budi, thanks for writing in and great questions! And yes, you can use a power band when performing traditional Deadlifts as the constant tension throughout brings a whole new element to the movement. Just be sure to keep your core tight and that the band allows you to move in a full range of motion to help avoid injury! -The FFP Team

I struggled with the first variation, especially when using the bowflex dumbbells I use at home. The form is hard to follow, but I am still trying
