As a gen Z myself, I honestly wish that I would have been born in a different time. Hard to find friends my own age because everyone else seems to be clueless, and will blame anything else before admitting their own faults. I'm just over it. Sensetive as hell, and just annoying. What do you blame the stupid things you have done and the ones you will do in the future on? I think a mirror is important sometimes, are you a victim of something? How do you stop being a victim? How do you know if you're a victim or not? Living life completely oblivious to reality or falling for bullshit ideals without evidence and solid thinking can have devastating consequences and it can happen to anyone, make sure it doesn't happen to you. If you think someone else is going through something difficult, try to help them out, listen to them, be a friend, leave the harsh criticism for another day, at another time. Please remember that there's a whole world out there full of people whom are the worst critics of themselves and they see nothing but flaws, if you keep feeding them with your flawed perceptions of their flaws, you're only making life worse for them for no reason, nothing good can ever come up from that, all you're going to do is built resentment in them for you. I'm Gen X by the way, I did plenty of stupid shit because I thought I had answers and I thought everyone else was stupid, don't make the same mistake I made.

It’s absolutely about how you’re raised, but also how much you’ve experienced plus a little innate common sense intellect. Ah, so that explains why boomers and Xers with intergenerational complaints are such busybodies (e.g. this tow truck driver, who was a third party _making money_ from the first van's mistake). Either they think anyone younger is under their authority, and they don't understand that we just don't live in that world anymore; or they simply can't accept the fact that they won't get "their turn", so they take it anyway. You've clarified a lot more than you realize

He never said a word. Not a thank you or anything. Promptly got stuck again. I drove past him. Left him sitting there. He began to cuss me out. Lots of folks saw it. They all drove past him too. I'd say the best thing you can do, is to learn from others who came before (in this case, learning from their mistakes). The fact that you already recognize there may be a problem with the actions of some around you and that it makes you feel embarrassed proves that you can rise above it. I do believe that as some generations become more and more 'stupid,' inevitably those following will see it for what it is, learn from it, and begin to sway their actions and opinions back the other way. Sounds like you're on the right track! :)
