I just wanted to point out that to me Dumbledores greatest magical feat, came in book 5. When he entered the Ministry, he disabled/disarmed every Death Eater with a single silver spell, except Bellatrix who managed to block it. So that's like what, 20 people downed with a single spell? Not as flashy or exciting as FireStorm...but way more powerful magic.

That is possibly the most impressive magic right there. Also the eternal flame which he created for Hagrid to bribe the giants. I like that u stated the book version of Dumbledore and Voldy's duel than the movie version. In the book Dumbledore made it look too easy as if he was bored. Not hiding behind shields, controlled all his surroundings including keeping Bellatrix in check. However, i wonder what spell was that when Dumbledore appeared if front Snape as a lightning bolt flash. In deathly Hallows, during the exploration of Snape's memory , that's how Dumbledore appeared. What was that ?...Also don't forget potions.

Also Dumbledore was so good at apparition and and dissapparition that he could do it silently, so when he appeared you couldn't hear him, the only one other than Dumbledore who can do this is Voldemort

Also Nobody But Peter, Siris, James and Lily knew that they switched the secret keeper to peter they all thought that Sirius had handed them over to Voldemort even Dumbledore didn't know so he couldn't vouch for him.. and by that point they probably had already arrested and incarcerated his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange and thought that he was just the same as her... Also with wormtail presumed dead, as his finger lie there in the blast radius there was no logical person besides Sirius in that situation to blame and the only person who knew his innocence was "dead"...

The thing that makes Dumbledore unnervingly powerful is his restraint towards using magic to showcase his power. He clearly has a deep understanding and respect for magic so it's a heck of a lot scarier that he has all this potential to go further but chooses not to. So you never really get to see the full extent of his power. The mystery itself would make any opponent shit themselves.

In other words, any Tim, Jack and Harry of reasonable talent can have and be master of the wand, and even if their spells is stronger than his, a duelist of Filius Flitwick's calibre, for example, could still have them incapacitated and disarmed within twenty seconds, Elder Wand or no, through pure technique alone. So his magic wouldn't have to be stronger, he would only have to be better at using it. More crafty, slightly better reflexes.

The duel did have witnesses, as the books states that those who witnessed the duel proclaimed it to be the greatest duel ever fought between two wizards. Also, it's not based on what I believe, it's based on every reference to what we know about Grindelwald's rise and fall from the original franchise, wherein Dumbledore describes to Harry the circumstances around the duel.

You missed two things. Aresto Momentum doesn't exist in the books and elder wand senses power levels of wizards and it actively wants to be used by a more powerful wizard, which means that elder wand lowers the power that it has to match the power of the other wand so that both wizards duelling can only achieve a win with their skill and power alone and not because of the elder wand. That means that if the wand sensed that Voldemort was a more powerful wizard it would have either switched its allegiance or lowered its power level so that voldemort and Dumbledore are fighting on equal footing, since elder wand was still loyal to Dumbledore, that means that the wand didn't sense that voldemort was more powerful or that Dumbledore won that duel on his own merit and skill.

I don't know, I think Dumbledore bringing the statues to life at the ministry, or the spell he cast on harry as a baby to hide him so long as he called his aunts house home, or his ability to draw an age line, or what ever he did to hide the philosopher's stone in the mirror, or how he seemed to be able to see through harry's invisibility cloak on multiple occasions (or at least know he was there) considering it was a hollow, should have been included when discussing the most impressive magic Dumbledore displayed in the series. On a random and unrelated note, I hate that the original actor cast to play Dumbledore died so early on. His gentle, somewhat absent minded portrayal of Dumbledore was much more in sync with the way I imagined the book vision of the character to be. The actor that replaced him gave Dumbledore more of a stern, even slightly irritable personality that really changed the character in my opinion. What ever other faults my imagined Dumbledore may have had, he would never have reacted the way the film vision did when harry's name came out of the goblet.

It seems like he hired people that were on par, if not better than him at certain skills. Snape, for instance, was most likely better at Occlumency and Potions (not to mention having created his own spells while still a student). McGonagall is perhaps the only person on history to be better at transfiguration than Dumbledore. Other unique examples are Trelawney actually being part-Seer, Sprout’s knowledge of plants, and perhaps even Lockhart’s complete mastery of memory spells

I 100% agree. It might take his full power or close to it to defeat Grindelwald. It’s funny Voldemort relied so heavily on Avada Kedavra when the elder wand clearly does’t care if you kill the previous master, in order to win its allegiance over. You just have to render the owner powerless. All Malfoy had to do was knock the wand from Dumbledore’s hand. If that’s all it takes, just imagine how carful both Dumbledore and Grindelwald have to be in their battle. I can’t wait to see what it takes for the elder wand to choose Dumbledore.

I’m sure you’ve mentioned it before but another thing I don’t think Dumbledore receives enough credit for is his ability to cast without using incantations. I’ve only seen a couple people mention this. I’m fantasy media where magic is possible the ability to use magic without incantations or gestures or the use of a wand/conduit is only possible for those who are literally filled with magic, in The Magicians one of the few characters who doesn’t just her hands for magic can o Lu do so because she is literally a God for a while

Probably not, as Rowling once stated that if a muggle tried to make a potion it wouldn't work, they'd just have a mix of all the ingredients, even if they followed the instructions perfectly. I think this would apply here as well, as this also is an act a muggle is able to "perform", but will probably not have the same result

idk why harry potter cannot use unique spell like dumbledore and voldemort does. harry only use small firecrackers, while those 2 using crazy fancy spells.

Voldemort may be able to do more powerful spells but Dumbldeore is more powerful for a couple reasons: 1. Control: Voldemort's rash, Voldemort acts in rage more then once to his own detrement. Dumbledore doesn't let emotion rule him. Dumbledore isn't emotionless at all but he is the master of the emotion not the other way around. 2. Strategy: Dumbledore is clearly the better strategist. He counters Voldemort in two separate wars from secret not out in the open. We don't know much about the first war but he spends the entire books preparing for the second war down to even his own death just being another part of a master strategy. 3. Knowledge: Voldemort's knowledgable but Dumbledore understands the fundamental nature of how magic works better. Even if he doesn't use it Dumbledore clearly has a good understanding of the dark arts Voldemort uses but more then that he understands the subtler magic of love and sacrafice. Voldemort destroyed himself because he didn't understand Lily's sacrafice and then paved the way for Harry to destroy him again by being stupid enough to use Harry's blood just to get the power of Lily's protection. Even if Dumbledore had taken a darker route and worked with Grindlewald I don't think he'd ever have made that kind of mistake. Voldemort may have more raw energy to work with but there's good reason he fears Dumbledore.

I kind of have to disagree with a few things, as there has been aninstance in the novel where Dumbledore stated that when someone like himself is blind to a problem (not paraphrasing) it causes catastrophic results. Which shows that he may play modest; but knows the truth of his position. And if you pay attention to how things are phrased and things that Dumbledore knows, he was quite interactive with legillimency.
