The only thing is with ar400 or 500 etc... I think welding it looses its strength. At least is more concern with steel targets. They always say never weld it, drill it and bolt it is ok. Of course not always ideal to drill in some cases.

Why didn’t u cut a square out and weld the patch flush?

That would blow a giant hole out with his welding it may not crack on weld but the metal gets so thin when your welding it would melt away or crack near the weld later on

I always put a 4X4 underneath,lower bed down and push ding back up, then weld patch in

It may continue cracking even though you welded the ends of the crack. However if you stop drill then patch you will be fine. Great vid!

who make the air fittings you use on your air tools that allow you to bend the hose.

not the prettiest repair. take a C clamp, cut the anvil off. weld clamp to a plate. tack the front of the plate to the lowest part of the gap, in your case the floor. when you tighten the clamp it will lift the floor to fill the gap. once it's tacked you loosen the clamp, bend it forward to break it off

Why wouldn't you weld the bed smooth and put the plate on the bottom? I know it is more work but I imagine everything is gonna get caught on those plates when you go to dump it.
