Being the daughter of a hardware store owner, I would like to make a suggestion. Always stand up while spraying. If you are sitting, you breath in more of the fumes. Which you won't do if you are standing up. Also, if you are standing up, you can spray with your arm fully extended and, again, not breath in as much of the fumes, which you cannot do while you are sitting. Also, if you are standing, you can step away any time you want to get a breath of fresh air. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
@kennethbutzer446711 ай бұрын
Well I am not related to anyone who works in a hardware store but I have worked with many mediums over the years as an artist and as far as acrylic sprays go the only advice I can think of is..RESPIRATOR!! Standing,sitting especially inside makes absolutely no difference,it’s all toxic to your liver and lungs, so saying stand up so it’s not as bad is irresponsible.

Hello and thank you very much for posting your video(s). I find them very helpful. I am hoping you could help me with a couple of questions. I have a smaller antique safe that was my grandfathers. The paint is badly worn off. I will be sanding the entire safe and I plan on repainting it and adding a bit of art. I have NEVER used an airbrush! I would appreciate any suggestions for the following: 1) what BLACK colored paint product to spray the entire safe with once it is sanded to bare steel? 2) what paint product to use in my air sprayer? 3) what paint product to spray over the entire safe, in order to give it a clear coat as protection for the black paint and the artwork? Thank you very much in advance, it is appreciated!
@DuncanCustomAirbrush8 ай бұрын
Here is how I like to paint starting from bare steel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3-piJ2wrL2BeMk Then you base coat, I usually like using Rustoleum 2x matte (black or white). And after artwork, I would have my buddy spray automotive clear coat on it for ultimate protection and durability.

I love experiments!! Here's one for you to try (if you haven't already) Mix you up some resin, any color but lots of super sparkly glitter looks fantastic in this technique. You can even use more than one color of resin cuz you're gonna let that dry completely. Then the next day take your cured resin piece outside and place it on a tarp or piece of plastic, or just put it on the ground if you want. Spray your pieces with Dawn powerwash (not too much) or just take some regular dish soap and drizzle it onto the resin pieces. THEN, grab your spray paint in a complimentary or contrasting color and spray it onto the resin pieces with the dish soap. You want to do this part fairly quickly. As soon as you spray it with spray paint, immediately pour a bucket of water over it or use the hose and rinse it off. Wherever the dish soap is, the paint won't stick and it creates some fantastic patterns. If you use the power wash you'll get a more speckled look and if you just drizzle regular dish soap you'll get some nice random irregular line patterns. Then your resin colors (and glitter) will show through the open spaces.
