Thank Richard & John. Very interesting. I loved the church & I loved getting the history of the area of Duncton. I look forward to the rest of this series.

It is nice to focus on one place for a while and tease out its history.

love the clip at 4.37 when the rolls royce drives past on main road..there has probably been so little change this could have been filmed in late 1970's nothing like seeing historic cars in historic places gives atmosphere :-)

That was a fluke but I had to keep it in - thanks for watching!

Looking forward to the next ones! Interestingly if anyone fancies a 'church crawl' before visiting the pub there are actually 4 churches! The 2 mentioned but also The Roman Catholic Church built 1868 by the then owner of Burton Park and yet another, a lovely tiny church built 1636 by the Gorings at Burton Park. They may be mentioned in the future videos

I do believe we are covering them - Thanks Linda!

Very interesting video - I have driven through Duncton on a couple of occasions - it’s good to know the history... Merstham (near me) has a bell in its church dating from 1380 but this one is even older!

Got to love those old bells! :)

Very interesting. Watching from Burton Ohio USA. We have our own Burton Park or Square here. It has a log cabin from the 1800s that is now a store and maple sap house to make maple syrup.

Back in 1972 I became smitten with a barmaid at the Cricketers pub. One day I went there with a friend and a big box of chocolates to give her and declare my undying love, only to find her in a passionate snog with a chap in a flash sports car outside. Desolate I drank too much, ate all the chocolates, and threw up all over my friend's car on the way back home. Young love, eh?!
