Just started playing and there was this one pretty early mission which suddenly had an incredible difficulty spike. Up until that point I don't think the game had explained anything to me well enough: just build rooms and you'll be fiiiine - well, I wasn't. Thank you for explaining to me a little bit of it

Also Orc is one of the fastest creature to train and underrated, they can counter Mistress for example!

Orcs have a training speed of 2, that's pretty average. Dragons do have a training speed of 3. In SinglePlayer Orcs might counter Mistresses, but the same is not true for Multiplayer, because you can cast Speed on a Mistress and also do some drop micro. Ancient even doubts that Horny counters the Mistress. But yea Horny doesn't directly counter her, but indirectly, because he is tanky, kills the other creatures and can cheaply be healed with chickens. Orcs still have to prove them worthy

Is there a cap value for a armour? For example, if Knight has it's 100 armour(If I recall correctly), does armour spell improves it further?

Afaik no, because the Avatar has a amour rating of 120. The Armour Spell increases the Armour by 25% and makes the creature immune to the lightning spell

Cool channel, you brought me a lot of nostalgia. I wonder why nobody added armour spell to "knight" then? More Armour to the Armour logic. Just for the sake of him being one trick pony even further. Seriously though, they could've gave him Slow similar to what Horned Reaper has. Did KeeperFX did any balance changes to the game? Adjusting unit stats, giving new skills, changing skill, Spell and Trap damage?

@@blacklight4720 I don't see why noone wouldn't use it on the Knight. When I have the armor spell avilable, I for sure cast it on them during battle, because they are high valueable creatures. Did KeeperFx did some balance changes... I would say no, but yes. Most "balance changes" are actually fixes, like missles or navigating missile won't be able to be spammed like an LMG. I think somethings are done to the Dragon as well, but still allows him to melt creatures and so on. The actual values of those creatures haven't been thoughted afaik. Horned Reapers get speed at lvl5 already, not at level 6. Hornies train very slow up to level 4, but fast since lvl5. Orcs train faster than trolls, Bile Demons or Dragons, and are a lot less expensive. I regard Giants also as trash, because they are to slow to hurt any one. Any lvl10 Giants get speed, which makes them more useful in fights, but it generally Giants take to much time to train them to speed spell at lvl 10. Barbarians train faster than Giants, get armor spell at lvl6, and are cheaper. Training warlocks to lvl 2 before research, can be bad advice. Because at lvl2 and higher, warlocks start to shoot imps and other creatures in the library, killing imps, and making any creature not having research as the primary job leave the library. Once the walls of the library are fortified, imps are not needed in the library any more, and training warlocks before research may be okay. Many experienced players use warlocks for research only, to throw them away at lvl1, once the creature max is hit, in order to get higher level creatures from the portal. Relying on warlocks for defense in the later game is a big risk, because they can be taken out easily with the lightning spell. Warlocks also can't work in the workshop for income or extra defense, they fight more valuable vampires in the lair, and make a terrible sound. They are great in times of defense trouble in early game, on lvl3 or 4, using ranged attack and heal to attack enemies, than get picked up, repeat, but in mid game they become a menace and cannon fodder. Sometime they can be useful because of the wind spell or invisibility on higher levels, but in that case one of them could be enough. If you achieve to produce some doors, a fortified room gives 100% efficiency, if all holes in the room are filled with doors. An orc needs one Barrack tile, but is attracted by the training room tiles. I'm not sure how many training tiles are needed, but generally the training room is large enough to attract orcs. Hell hounds need Scavenger tiles to attract, not sure how many. Tentacles need temple. In maps where Horned Reapers, Vampires, Ghosts and/or skeletons are in the creature pool, they get attracted by the rooms where they are created. Hell Hounds in the original game where great scouts, that would hunt enemy imps, and smell enemies behind the the fog of war. Unfortunately, in KeeperFX Helhounds are made completely useless in use by AI, because they don't scout any more, as they did in the original game. Maybe this mistake will be addressed in a future KeeperFX release. Except for scouting, Hell Hounds also are the only creatures that have the same speed as the Horned Reapers, once both have the speed spell trained, and therefor fight together with the Horned Reaper over longer distances in the end game. Their health is rather low, so they need to be picked up for healing in the lair during fights, to keep them alive, just like other low health creatures without the healing spell. They can be used in the library and workshop, although it is not their strength. Their strength is their speed, and their ability to keep up with fleeing imps, even without their speed spell trained at lvl2. I saw many multiplayer matches online now, usually vampires and scavenger rooms are not used. Multi player speeds research, at most up to the temple, for Dark Mistress, cheap Imps, Horned Reaper, after speeding up for other useful rooms. I kinda recognize that in playing against AI, where the Temple for cheap imps, and for exchanging low level creatures against high level creatures, is the most important target, after some also important lower targets. But I never saw Vampires used in Multi Player effectively up to now. Since vampires have both heal (lvl5), resurrect (lvl4), and teleport (lvl4), and are extremely strong, I would place them high. Vampires have a very high payday though, not very suitable for Dungeons with little or no gems or pillage opportunities. With teleport, Vampires can be set to kill imps at the enemies heart or gems vault, without having to travel there, using Call to Arms for teleport. Maybe I should play multiplayer myself, in order to test some more stuff out.

The Stage indication I didn't want to say lvl5 Reaper, to not lengthen the guide even more (I cut 20min already). I haven't found any information about an increase of Training speed for the Reaper at lvl5. "Orcs train faster than trolls, Bile Demons or Dragons, and are a lot less expensive." Dragons have a Traning speed of 3, Bile Demons of 2 and Trolls of 1. Orcs have a training speed of 2. Yes orcs are half the price for training, but they are also way weaker. But you can cast speed on your creatures anyways, and most of the time all your creatures are on speed. IMO Giants are ok creatures, but suck in comparison, indeed. You should go for 2 libraries anyways and while training you can start reinforcing those walls. Additionally you just want to unlock Speed and Obey and continue training them, unless you want to go for a Late Game Rush, but the 2nd library solves that problem. Yep, that's why I put them in trash tier at late game, in Mid Game they are great units. I have yet to see good use of defences in higher skill lvls in PvP. But giving rooms doors would be one. Lvl 4 Warlocks are Midgame units and which decent Drop Micro, you can deal so much free damage. "An orc needs one Barrack tile, but is attracted by the training room tiles. Tentacles need temple." 1 Barrack tile, 8 Training room Tile = Orc; 9 Scavenger tiles = Hell Hound; 9 Temple, 9 Lair Tiles = Tentacle. To be honest, the Tournament Matches very in quality by a lot. Ancient and I developed far more sophisticated strategies and tactics during all the time while writing the guide that. Both of us played quite bad from todays point of view in the tournament and we still need more practice that we would say we played well. What I want to say with that is, we can't judge how MP works yet, the very basics were just recently development and aren't used to their fullest yet, because it's that young. easiest trick is to infect enemy creatures with desease and let them cook a bit in their own lair. Only the few with self heal will survive. Or just create a hornie and let it get capture by enemy. Also try to wall in your opponent as soon as possible. There is a mission where you dont have a training room and only crap gems somewhere in a corner, so why not take the emey gems ASAP. Game won.

The Red Wizard (Time Mage) is a created added by KeeperFx. So that you can also get a creature from the Temple through the Hero Portal. Every RTS has stages, some are more obvious some are less.
