The goblins have nice well made houses and seem to mainly mind their own business. You on the other hand live under a roof sans house and make a living by pillaging the goblins' village in order to provide for a bunch of layabouts. I don't know about you, but I have my doubts about who the good guys are in this game. I'd fire the lazy peasants and go hang out with the goblins. At least they seem able to get things done.

And thank you for making an Awesome ARPG! Those Dungeon Modifiers you added are my favorite. It makes the Dungeons actually FEEL Dangerous to me, even if I’m kitted out. They make each run feel different. Like enemies getting stronger after I kill their buddies is cool, and encourages caution, or perhaps even spreading out my damage to avoid a kill, so that when I drop them, I am exposed to less of a dps burst window. And explosive enemies are always fun, and a nice challenge for the melee builds. 💥 I particularly like the one where your HP does not regenerate after battles. It feels like the whole dungeon is against you, not just the little gang of fools you’re about to cut down, for every little mistake you make in the battle adds up. You let one of the little wanna be big bads land a hit on you? Well, you’ll be carrying that little mistake until you manage you heal it. Step on a hidden trap, ouch, better watch out next time. It makes the Dungeons Feel Real and Ruthless, and is an excellent change of pace from the norm. Good Work! I Look forward to playing more Dungeons of Edera! 👍

It sort of looks like a rogue-lite Two Worlds with sort of a Loop Hero town thing. Definitely adding this to my wishlist. Rather than that second town down the hill, I'd simply incorporate the idea into the camp you've already got, allowing it to slowly grow into some huge castle or kingdom. That road, I'd suggest something more like that last dungeon from Torchlight. Rather than questing, or a bounty, just walk down that road for an endless dungeon linked to your current level. I'd personally limit the amount of NPCs at camp to 1-2. I'd have the shop woman with limited, but upgradable inventory, and the main quest giver. Then, I'd have more NPCs you can find rarely, and randomly within dungeons, that you'll have to protect til they've found an item or killed something, before you can go to camp, where they'll set up shop. One NPC you really need in this game is a rogue merchant or quest giver hiding someplace in camp... possibly randomly... always behind something, and never around another NPC. "Psst... hey... I've got a job for ya if you're up to it..."
@Gigusx3 жыл бұрын
I like the variety, loot system, locations, overall hack'n'slash feel to the game, one thing that bothers me is that enemies have such a low recovery rate after being attacked. I feel like even the simplest enemies should present some kind of challenge and not let you just mindlessly beat them down. The combat in general seems to be the weakest link, but the game looks fun!
@xchalibur773 жыл бұрын
I hope you noticed he was playing on medium difficulty. Did you think that MAYBE not all people are hard core dark souls players. Leave this game to those who likes it the way it is and don't try to make every game in the same type of game.
@Gigusx3 жыл бұрын
@@xchalibur77 The point is that a game should actively engage the player and not let him passively progress through itself, and a high level of difficulty isn't required to achieve that effect. It's stimulating and good for the player, and not a mindless walk-through as if you were scrolling through a social media. Now, this game clearly isn't doing too bad since they're clearly making some fights more challenging, but it can be even better without losing its arcade-ish style that the devs are going for.

Excellent choice on Dungeons of Edera Splat! And it really has made excellent progress since I first started playing and recording my progress in these dungeons way back in the Alpha. Thank you for showing it off! It really is an excellent ARPG RogueLite, with fast, kinetic combat that keeps you crushing and cleaving through your many foes. And did people see the extremely detailed weapons and armor? It is good to look good as you crush your foes, especially when you have such a prominent view of your own rear 😲. Might as well make it look good! Plus, did you see that sword Splat picked up? It looked just like Anduril from LOTR! Such personality these weapons have, for when you pick up a weapon, and it looks believable and good, it makes you appreciate it more, and want to swing it around and see it in motion. It is good to see devs taking the time to showcase believable weapons and armor. 👍 And if you like the Fatalities, (which you can turn off if you don’t btw), then you’ll LOVE the GORE mode! Literally cut and smash heads, arms, and legs off as you cut down your foes! Visceral! And FUN! 🪓😈 Anyway, Dungeons of Edera is an excellent 3rd person Diablo in the making! With more than a little splash of Dark Souls influence in the combat. If any of that appeals to you in the slightest, Wishlist / get the game. You’ll likely love it. And it gets better every single patch, with meaningful updates going out every month, with the Dungeon Modifiers added being my favorite. They really change up the gameplay, like one where your HP does not regenerate after battles, or buffing nearby foes if one dies, or even making all enemies explode after death! 😨💥 You’d better believe this makes the run feel different! And if you do get Dungeons of Edera and love it, remember to thank the one who open your eyes and tossed you into these glorious dungeons; he means well 😺😊.

Looks like you got a fair amount of joy out of it :) Can you say how many hours you put in and what you think how many hours of content there are currently, if i buy the game now?
@MrDelightfulRPG3 жыл бұрын
@@Lex4122 Probably around 20 hours currently; had to add it up, as a few times I fell asleep with the game running🤦! I meant to just take a little break, opps! However, this did allow me to check for memory leaks, and it was running just fine after passing out for around 8 hours, so yay! I still like it, and the amount of content, like all games with Procedural Generation, is technically limitless. There’s a story mode, where you travel through hub areas, doing quests for voiced quest givers, progressing though the war-torn world. It is also packed full of procedurally generated areas, and preset quest areas, and it has a plot framework if you like, providing a reason for your monster crushing rage! CHARACTER WILL HAVE REVENGE! 😭 💢 😡 ✊ I have shown much of this on my channel, and plan to show much more. You can also choose to do random dungeons for rewards off the quest board if you wish for extra loot. Side quest time! There is also the Dungeon Runners mode, which I have shown as well. That mode is full on Permadeath, you drop in that, it’s all over. So it’s the harder, harder mode! YES! I play quite a bit of that as well. It’s the combat which really does it for me, it’s not perfect yet, as it is still in early access, but it’s fast and kinetic, and dangerous. You can crush most of your foes easily enough when they are alone, but if they manage to gang up on you, and surround you, you will drop fast, especially on hard. You have to stick and move on the higher difficulties, which forces you to pay attention to the combat. If you just try to auto attack through all your foes, they WILL punish you for it, circling you, flanking you, and cutting you down. In this way, the combat feels more like a real fight, like Dark Souls, not as granurl perhaps, but MUCH faster, plus with procedural generated lvls! You can even directly counter strikes in Dungeons of Edera if you get the timing right, but I prefer to just dodge out of the way and hit them in the flanks, catching them in a light melee chain. Although, the Dungeon Modifiers can change up the strategy, as there is one where nearby enemies will get stronger after I kill their monster friends. This is really cool, like their going mad with rage and bloodlust and seeing their buddy fall, and it encourages caution, as the damage boost is meaningful. It encourages a change in tactics, as perhaps I should start spreading out my damage to avoid a kill, so that when I drop them, I am exposed to less of a dps burst window. And explosive enemies are always fun, and a nice challenge for the melee builds 💥. Don’t let them take you with them 😱! I’d say, if you like ARPG Action with meaningful build customizations, where the abilities you choose, that you use and specialize in, actually FEEL different, and are not just firing off different color balls of light, you’re likely love it. A two handed warrior Diablo 2 style Barbarian, Whirling-Winding through foes like a tornado of death, feels VERY different compared to a sword and board tank shield stuffing, blocking, and charging their foes down. While a totem dropping WoW shaman type fights in a more circular fashion, always starting in range of their dropped buddies for the healing and lightning boost. Casters, of the Fire, Lightning, Frost, or Undead type all have their own different spells, who do their own things, and archers hit like a truck from long range, but drain their stamina and must manage arrow usage. Gameplay is the clear focus here, with the engaging, fast 3rd person combat through procedurally generated dungeons full of foes, treasure, and often, traps! Plus the recently added Dungeon Modifiers add a LOT of variety to the runs. I really like it. So, if you wish to pit yourself against a challenging ARPG with Depth, options, and Good Combat that will only get better, then you’ll likely love Dungeons of Edera. I sure do. 🥰

you unknowingly allocated partitions in your brain to more important info like limp biscuit. me too, though thank god it wasnt that "artist" hehe. in the future we should be able to take a more active role in our retained "knowledge" one would hope.

Watching this makes me think about, what if there was a Vermintide rogue-like procedural single-player game? I would be all over that.

So this looks pretty dope. I didn't hear you say if there was controller support or not. i feel like that might make the game play a little more smooth. I first thought you could hire mercs to create a group of dungeon crawling. Now I see it's to make the skill trees flush out. If they stay concentrated on making the dungeon crawling just right, I am sure doing a colony build can be added in a patch/update later.

i realized that almost every icon on the game, including the character tab has the same design from godsbane idle.

I rather not have those effects when you swing your weapons. It just obscure the view. And do we even need those glitter effect as well?

the way Splat pronounces Landsknecht sounds like a private army warrior a multi-billion software development company would employ...

21:15 Splatty misses the Plate Gauntlets of the Snake that the boss dropped because he hates reading bottom screen text.
