It actually wasn't, although the animations in the game are impressive no doubt, the smoothness of the animations wasn't real. If you look at comparisons a lot of clean cuts between animations are not nearly as good.

The animation in lou2 is undoubtedly the best we've ever seen in any game so far like no contest, but the demo's animations are so good because of the small details that are nearly impossible to really do in a game for now at least. I remember seeing this and genuinely being mad that they did a cinematic like this, if they had just shown the real animations everyone still would've been wildly impressed, seems scummy to me even though it's on a small scale.

They all have highly understandable reasons for what they do, they are endearing and not the standard good vs evil bs we usually get. It tells an evocative, distinct story in a medium that has never been used in this way before. It's a masterpiece. With no equal when it comes to game narratives.

Honestly It's pretty obvious in hindsight. Maps 4x the size of Fallout 4 with no NPCs and maybe 70 players should have been the second red flag. The first obviously being the disaster that was ESO's launch. Of course I figured this out because I was some kid who had no responsibilities or social life and could just think about various topics for hours on end.
