S1 - Ep 86 - Awesome Experience and Brunch at Smitswinkel in Oudtshoorn!

Waking up after a great night’s rest at Hillside Guest Farm we had to hit the road for our next destination, although we would've loved to stay longer. We were fortunate to see ostriches along the road again and we had to stop to take a closer look. Coming into Oudtshoorn we saw a shop / restaurant with an awesome, playful vibe. Smitswinkel has a unique style and we were so happy that we stopped there for brunch. Smitswinkel seems to be on par with any similar joint in the USA 🇺🇸 , your videos are incredible and way too short. That guestfarm that you showcased looks incredible, you should promote these places more though with pricing etc. You're finding incredible gems. I cannot wait for the destination where you're enroute to..Hopefully there will be "Dustbugs" merch soon 😁

The Karoo is amazing and Hillside Guest Farm was really a memorable stay. The owners have gone to so much trouble to make this a sanctuary where guests can just relax and escape city life. I'm hesitant to include prices since they fluctuate continuously, but I'm happy to include a link to their Facebook and other pages in future descriptions. I hope you will like the roads to and our next destination itself just as much. DustBugs merch? Maybe one day! 😁 Thank you for supporting our channel.

We loved the birds too! It just wouldn't be the same without the constant birdsong. The two parrots are so beautiful and it was lovely to see them up close.

You're 100% correct, and we probably missed many more places of interest in and around town. It wasn't our intention to explore the town that day. We choose to focus on what we actually see and experience, rather than on what we missed. 😊

Have you guys taken the road that goes through Vondeling and past Towerwaterkloof? I once saw a video on that a long time ago and dont know if that road is still open. Dit is my geweste! That is where my ancestors settled when they came from Nederland in 1864. It is seriously beutiful road is you get the chance to go there. It is in the region between De Rust and Uniondale

Neither of those names ring a bell, but are such pretty names that the areas must be beautiful too! We have never been on the road between De Rust and Uniondale, but have visited both towns during two separate trips. There are so many stunning roads and it's unfortunately impossible to cover them all in the limited time we have. We will never sleep! 🙈 Our recent visit to De Rust will be featured in an episode which will go love week after next. Look out for that one! 🤩
