I was a kid watching portland wrestling in the 70s and 80s when Billy Jack just started. He was our hero. We wanted to be strong like him. Its sad to see what things he did made him what he was late in life. Reality is sometimes not as good as fantasy.

Actually Billy Jack changed his ring name from Billy Jack to Billy Jack Haynes because of threat of litigation from producers of the movie. It was around the time he was in Texas or Florida just before his WWF run around 84 or 85 that he switched to Billy Jack Haynes.

In the early 80's I lived in Sarasota. Once a month there was NWA wrestling. Four friends and me went every month. Before the matches the baby faces and heels would come out and line up on opposite sides of the lobby. Fans could talk and shake hands with the wrestlers. One of my friends was a body builder / lifter. Not huge 6' 215 lbs. Well he shakes Billy Jacks hand. All hell erupts. I turn around a Billy is all up in his face claiming he tried to pull his arm and make him look bad. I went over and got between them and lead my friend away. I am an honest 6'3 265 lbs. After watching wrestling all my life it was fun to see how much smaller a lot of wrestlers were then I thought . BTW Billy Jack in wrestling boots was shorter then me. On the other hand Blackjack Mulligan and pre Rocky Hulk were huge.

Dementia can come on fast sometimes. My Grandmother was in a nursing home due to her physical limitations and my Grandfather and I would visit her ever day. Her memory was sharp and everything was good until one day we came in to do our daily visit and her memories were gone and she didn't know who she was or who anyone else was including my Grandfather and they had been married for about sixty-five years. It turned out to be what they call vascular dementia. From that day until she passed she couldn't remember anything and didn't know who anyone was. It is a very sad thing to watch someone go through but it basically took all her memories overnight without warning.

I remember when I was younger reading about Billy Jack in the Apter magazines back when he worked for the PNW promotion in Portland. He was being hyped as possibly being the next big thing in wrestling once he made it to WWF or NWA but after he arrived in WWF, he seemed to quickly fall out of favor and was usually a mid-carder. He had a good look back then in the 80's but I think there were just too many guys overshadowing him back then in the WWF. The WWF roster back then was stacked back around the first Wrestlemania.

This is probably the least surprising case of a wrestler arrested for murder. Even less than Johnny K-9, who was part of an outlaw biker gang. Anyone ever watching shoot interviews with Billy Jack, or hearing people talk about their interactions with him, would know he is notoriously unstable. This also wouldn’t be the only case in which he had married a woman connected ton the business to help them out, as I believe he married Jeanne Clark (future wife of Steve Austin) to help her with visa issues in the mid 80s.

Billy Jack married Jeanie Clark so she could stay in America, Chris Adams was in the UK at the time and he used to beat Jeanie. Adams was worried and rightfully so, as soon as Haynes did see him he claims to have challenged Chris in the locker room and he backed down. Chris Adams was very similar to Haynes and had a hair trigger temper but obviously knew his limits, there's a documentary on here which talks about Adams' life and downhill spiral.

People act like big age gaps in marriages are weird. Today, in modern day United States, 8% or about 1 in 12 married heterosexual couples have an age difference of 10 years or greater. In homosexual men it's even more common at around 1 in 9 couples, and in the past century it's been as common as 1 in 7. Actually the more unusual thing, statistically is for the woman to be older.

Wrong . Billy Jack Haynes did indeed get sued by Tom Laughlin [writer/ producer and star} of Billy Jack for using the Billy Jack character . You can't copyright a title , but you can copyright content . You can not use someones name, image and likeness that is copyrighted .. That would be like producing Friday The 13th with a Hockey masked machete wielding killer . Friday The 13th with a completely different story would be fine . I'm not into these Dutch videos where he comments on modern day issues without doing much or any homework on them. They also seem to be coming more and more common, especially the McMahon/WWE issues. This is not why I watch/listen to Dutch. BJH had been with this woman for a long time, and she didn't just have dementia she had alzheimer's. There's clear documentation of BJH being distressed/emotional about her health decline. Sure BJH is bat $h!t crazy, but deep down he's a stand up guy. There's no reason for him to kill somebody he's loved for a long time other than a mercy killing. I mean everything of her's was his anyway.......and a bullet to the head isn't something he's going to get away with a 'died peacefully in her sleep'. He knew, and expected to die also in this event. Very very sad, and probably very noble.

I met Billy Jack Haynes backstage at the West Palm Beach Auditorium. The locker room there housed both heels and face. They broke Kayfabe for me because my father was local officer who had been shot and was in the hospital. I met Mike Graham, One Man Gang, Krusher Khrushchev, Pez Watley, Dory Funk Jr, Jim Neidhardt, Dick Slater, Jesse Barr and others. This was certainly uncommon then. They pulled the curtain back for me that night. My father died the next day. I'll never forget the kindness of the wrestlers. I think either Dutch or Kevin Sullivan was booking then.

Dementia can progress very rapidly. I had a neighbor in her late 80s that I had known my entire life. She passed away recently. Up until a year ago, she was going on daily mile jogs, and was perfectly fine. Within a span of six months, she was completely incapacitated and required round the clock care. It is possible that his wife may have been fine when they met.

He was also involved in two murders of two young teenagers. Although he claims he wasn't the one who killed them, he did say it was two dirty cops , during a drug drop off, and they just happened to withness the drop off and the dirty cops didn't want to leave them as withness. Billy Jack says that one of the cops use the butt of his rifle and smashed into the back of the head of one of them, cracking the kids skull and killing him instantly. He said he didn't kill them, but he did drag there dead bodies on the train tracks, and set it up to look like the two teenagers were really high on drugs and were hit by the train. Anyway theres a story about it. Its called Boys On The Tracks.
