Thank you for watching! On this day, I wandered the streets of Haarlem in the morning, set up my base for the rest of the trip, and discovered a side of Amsterdam (Noord) I had never seen. But the big question is did I pick the right place to overpay for frietjes?

@ Thank you for the feedback. I’m mindful of the volume levels as I’m editing, but I will find a way to improve. I had problems with my microphone at the beginning of the trip. Instead of solving the issue, I just didn't use it which, in hindsight, was a mistake.

Harlem: Haarlem, Brooklyn: Breukelen (near Utrecht) Vancouver: (van) Coevorden (in the province of Drenthe). Staten Island came from Staten Eylandt after the de Staten van Holland, Wall Street was once the Walstraat and there are many more examples.

Love the videos, Jimmy. Our mother was from The Hague, and you are hitting some of our family's most-loved places. You know that bird poop on your hotel window in Scheveningen? Seagulls pooped on my brother on that same street on two separate trips! (It's probably all the herring they eat.) Haarlem and Delft are the two super-Dutch destinations that Americans don't know enough about. The movie Ocean's 12 shot a scene in Haarlem's train station. Keep enjoying your life and travels!

Thank you for the kind words! Unfortunately in America, an extended holiday is called retirement. 🤣 So I am working my way toward that goal, and in the meantime, learning to vlog the trips I can take. Currently looking for that next destination which will be a couple of months away.

het Spaarne, you call it canal, I was born In Haarlem, when I was in New York, I went to Harlem and asked the people if they know where the name comes from….. nobody knew, Americans don’t know their History !!!!
