I'm so glad this high quality video was posted. I was at this great show and Dweezil had some great guests play with the band. When he introduced Phil X to the crowd I was elated, but Phil only got a smattering of applause. I was shocked, but I figured that a Zappa crowd probably isn't familiar with him. Then they played... by the time the song was over, it was an audience of Phil X fans! Standing ovation!! Go Phil!!

Yeah, I'm not sure why Phil X has flown under the Radar for so long or maybe they knew he plays for Bin Jovi. Lol.

Having seen both Frank and Dweezil live, I can say Dweezil's bands are just as tight. With the passing of Frank, there was a void I felt. And then Dweezil came along. One of the most moving concerts I have attended, and I have attended many, was one of Dweezil's. His band played the Muffin Man, and during the guitar solo, they put up a video of Frank playing it as well. The duel solo was being played on the very same SG guitar. It was mesmerizing. If you have become a fan of Frank Zappa, I can say to you if you attend a Dweezil show, you are hearing Frank live.

Dweezil can you offer us some historical insights? Was it really Jack Bruce who played bass on the original record? And it was just him and your dad jamming? Also, why the name Apostrophe?
@guitarnut1800Ай бұрын
BTW, you should do an interview with Chanan Hanspal. He got a doctorate doing a thesis on your dad's classical compositions and knows his writing at the most in-depth level. He's already interviewed Steve Vai and Andy Partridge of XTC. You guys would have a lot to talk about!

@@thedweezilzappa... just watching the Rick Beato interview, slowly absorbing the history that you have been involved in. Yes, you are modern music royalty. Dweezil, i was honored to carry your guitars into the venue when you toured with "Z" Shampoo Horn gig in Pittsburgh... the first time i ever saw a fretless guitar and the 250 song medley that yinz played was a musical brain twister. I complimented you on the way out and you told me that the medley was cut in half from it's 500 song norm. It was the most my brain was twisted in 69.5 years of life. The scars are still itchy, it feels good to scratch. 🐝🤟 Can't wait to listen to this live jam on my new Bluetooth headphones, they seem to be dynamically advanced. 🔊🎶 Thank you for keeping the music of Frank Zappa alive 👍 Too prolific for words. 📜
