I’ve seen Dwight three times and each time he was stunning...however...I am glad he dumped his original guitar player, Pete Anderson. He always soloed one verse too long and tried to pull off licks he couldn’t q-u-i-t-e handle. Dwight’s current band, 3Pears, is a much more “share the music” and maximize the tune, not the solos group. And I agree - no one comes close to managing the rock-inflected Bakersfield idiom as Dwight Yoakam...a superb musician and a superb performer.

His idols were buck Owens and wynn Stewart the original bakers field sound we all have or favourite s. But comments like that are not called for.. I play upright bass and front a rockabilly band in Scotland 🏴 called Rockville. also play pedal steel amongst other instruments and hold down a full time job as a fuel tanker delivery driver .now at the good old age of 55yrs and still go and watch other artists and bands 👍 saw Dwight in Glasgow a few year ago at country to country so unless you play and can perform better 😜 you shouldn't be judgemental ..👎🏴🥃
