If you have issues with puddling when using dye inks on clear stamps first load the stamp with versamark ink and then load with the dye ink.

Really appreciate such a thorough comparison of all these inks... have never tried Stampin' Up but have heard some good things about their products...will now give them a try...... Thanks so much! :) Debbi...

Great comparisons with understandable reasonings from you, thank you so much. This video has helped make a confusion about ink brands much clearer.

Thank you for the comprehensive analysis. You did say that you tried to get similar colors, although, there is a drastic difference between a red and a blue. Different colors, within the same brand, may perform differently. I assume this would be seen more in pigment inks, but I have no proof of that. Regardless of the color variance, your comparison was very interesting and entertaining! Thank you! xo

Thanks so much Darlene, this was a great review. Most of my dye inks are Stampin up, so I'm glad to know I invested in a good brand.

Very nice comparison. With the clear stamps if I don't get a good image I will sand the stamp and it seems to do a lot better. Thank you

Thanks for sharing this! The only dye ink I have are the momento dew drops. And today I tried them out to see what paper worked best with them, but I didn't get good results on any paper! Now I know why :)

Great comparison. Thanks for doing this. It really helps when trying to decide what type of ink is good for what technique and how that particular paper takes to different inks as well. My take on this is that Stampin Up is really good for stamping any type of stamp, I like Distress for all the techniques Ranger shows, Memento is maybe best for line image stamping and not so much filled in stamps and also good for using your Copics. But from your test here, I think I may try some Hero Hues ink next. Thanks again. ~Karen Sue

Great comparison of inks. I mainly use ink for stamping images and I love the Stampin Up ink. Great confirmation of my ink of choice. :) Gotta try the using inks in my stash to make backgrounds. Thanks for the video!

Darlene, I only just found your video on die ink comparisons, and I have a question for you . . . I have several different brands of stamp pads at the moment and would like to try and stay with one or two brands to cover the majority of my stamping needs. I'd give anything to get the impressions with my Stampin'up! inks that you get. I've only tried the Stampin'Up! ink on new Stampin'Up! photopolypolymer and wood-mounted stamps, but I have a terrible problem with their ink bubbling on the stamps then consequently giving a very poor stamped result. Do you have any solutions or remedies for this? I would appreciate your opinion. My consultant was no help whatsoever.
@darlene0039 жыл бұрын
+Nancy Pence Hi Nancy. Usually the bubbling is due to a poor quality stamp (i.e. a non-photopolymer stamp like silicone), but you said your stamps are from SU, which are all photopolymer or rubber. One problem could be that your ink pad is over-saturated with ink. Do you find that it's very liquidy? Another possible problem could be your cardstock. SU inks don't work as well with non-SU cardstock. Hope that helps.
@nancypence59249 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Darlene. They are all brand new SU ink pads and SU stamps, however, I was using other white card stock. I purchased colored card stock from SU to match the inks and to use as background papers. So, that could be the cause for sure. I love the stamps, but get frustrated that they're so contrary.
@felinemagic44738 жыл бұрын
Nancy, coming in a little late but I find with the polymer or clear stamps (regardless of maker, including SU), if I take a white eraser and rub over the stamp design before I use them it conditions the stamp and rarely will you have the bubbling and your stamp print should be really clear. Try it and stamp on scrape paper. You will readily see where you may need to hit the stamp with the eraser again. This use of the eraser works for me every time.

Nancy Pence conditioning your stamps are really the key. Sometimes if you do some test stamping first. Also use your foam mat with your photo polymer stamps. The MISTI had really saved my life as I am not the best stamper in the world. I love SU products but practice makes perfect. Don't give up 😊

Great video, thank you. I loved the results from the stampin up ink for most of the techniques and its great you were using the same cardstock as I used as that really helped me. I use inks for a few different techniques and over all this showed me stampin up could be a good choice for me. However I really need them to be good with colouring when I use my promarkers, I heard SU ink wasn't good for this...is that true? I use Neenah cardstock when using my promarkers. Any advice would be great :) I'm trying to limit the amount of different ink pads and /or brands due to limited space and money.

If Promarkers are dye based markers, then you want an OIL or ALCOHOL based ink for stamping. I personally LOVE my Palette inks (My Favorite Things seems to be quite similar, but I can't be sure it's the same type of hybrid ink). I know the black isn't super black, but works well, IMO. I am at the point where I want the Palette collection, I have the Distress collection, and I will probably invest in some My Favorite Things inks in colors I don't have in the other two lines.

That was very interesting, Darlene. Have you tried any of the Momento Luxe Inks? I am curious if you will like them. I just purchased a few and I'm looking forward to trying them. So many wonderful Inks. So little time to use them :) Thanks so much.

Hi Laura, I haven't purchased any of the Memento Luxe inks, although I have heard good things about them. They are pigment inks, which I don't use very often. If I was going to purchase some pigment inks, I would likely start there.

Hi, Darlene. Always love your vids and appreciate you sharing your gift so generously. One small note: Adirondack inks actually have a felt pad, not foam. I mention it because some stampers have a strong preference. Thank you.
