@@xo.kissmyash you’re welcome I changed my shoes color by dipping a soft brush in the color and apply it on the area I want without touching the rubber bottom and if I did touch it by mistake just wipe it off with wet cloth. try that and let me know 👌

My daughter did this....the tape came off in the hot water. The converse symbol turned brown. The soles turned brown. We couldnt get the dye off of the soles. Tried bleach, acetone, baking sod, dawn dish liquid, dish liquid mixed with the baking soda and magic eraser....no luck with any of it. Painters tape will also come off. The hot water makes the adhesive weak and the tape falls off. We followed the directions on the bottle of dye which was 3 gallons of water and half the bottle of dye and 1 tsp of dish liquid and sit in the dye for 30 minutes. And we used tongs to pick up the shoes. On the bottom where the bleach took the color away, we took a q-tip and put it in the dye and put it on the bleach spots. They were a little darker, but will fade

if you still want to try and clean the rubber part, you could try mixing baking soda and water into a paste and scrub it with a toothbrush! but they look so cool!

Yeah! It may just have a tint of teal under the brown depending on how much you dilute the dye, but it should work since the brown is darker than the teal

Thank you! Yeah it should work! They’ll probably even turn a little brown when you bleach them so then the dye would be more color correcting. Rit also makes a dye remover that takes the color out of fabric, so you could use that first and then dye them brown. Either way should work ☺️

Do the white threads on the shoe become brown as well or did you use something to prevent them from becoming brown before you submerged them? I wanna try dying my converse brown but I want the threads to remain white :)

the threads should stay white! i didn’t put anything on them and they stayed white, as did the threads on most of the other things i dyed, so i think you should be good to put them in as is ☺️

i think it should work either way! if you don’t bleach them, they may have like a yellow tint underneath so if you want to avoid that you may want to bleach them first. i hope they come out great! 💕💕
