9 years later, and dying light 1 is still one of my 3 favorite zombie games, and favorite games in general of all time. I like the cinematic recap of crane telling his story of dl1 by a campfire, feels as if hes telling it to people he would meet when dl2 takes place

Gotta love Kyle’s voice…..I think the original Dying Light seemed more real in the animation of terrain, characters whereas some of the low level infected and the animation in Dying Light 2 feels more cartoonish. It’s a great franchise and I only hope we get Elysium for DL2

Playing dying light 2, I think what I miss most from dying light 1 is…. Fun. It was way more fun. It was a silly, fun sandbox. Dying light 2 went for a more real, gritty, ‘fight for survival’ type gameplay. And while it’s good, it’s just not as fun. And it’s probably why I still enjoy dead island so much. It never took itself seriously, it was just stupid fun.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that! I just prefer the silly fun zombies games. So like days gone, as great as it was, will never be as fun for me to play over and over as dead island is. But I know there’s still a huge amount of people who do prefer this more serious gritty style. It just wasn’t what I was expecting from the sequel. Still good though

Dying Light 1 had a dark feel to it, it was scary, it had perfect parkour, best expansion, free content, best events and even a pvp mode.

It looks amazing though. Which I’m sure was what they were going for. And the stamina while climbing just… ugh. Atleast at the start.
