The "tortoise neck" is called a mock neck. Loved everything except the romper. It was too short and too oversized, didn't flatter your figure. One of the reasons why the sweaters feel differently might just come down to the dyes used to colour them. The dyes are probably reacting diverently to the same fabric/fiber. Similar to how your hair will react differently to different haircolours. Some might make your hair shinier, and soft while other dye will make it feel heavier or dry.
