Once again, I was feeling very reckless and decided that dying my hair with 21 different hair dyes was a completely logical thing to do. Of course, I expected that things might go wrong, but luckily for me I had a friend I could call upon to help me to dye my hair rainbow using every shade of Arctic Fox Hair Dye!

Reds and natural blondes are the most rare hair colors. I had natural blonde when I was a young women and died it black and it never grew back blonde it grew back light brown, so I highlighted it for years but bleach damages over time which is why I went natural copper type red.

Look up GlamFam on KZbin. He is a cosmetologist and teaches cosmetology in high school now. While he focuses on curly hair and ethnic hair, he has a guide that thoroughly helps you figure out your hair type and what types of products are best. Such as what ingredients to look for, what ingredients make some people's hair greasy and not others etc.

Worst case/ potential best case??? you can go nuts till you've had enough, shave it off, and while you regrow you can go nuts with wigs of various price points and have endless wig content. I'm of the "it's just hair" boat. I've had a pastel pink bleached streak that was from a botched dye job at a salon. They bleached my hair without telling me when I just wanted a brighter red added to my hair. I just wore a slouchy toque for a couple weeks til it faded to white blonde. I just got into wigs but I'd totally wear one if my hair was messed up.

I have a tip that worked for me: I stopped roughing up my wet hair with a towel and instead I gently scrunch it to get the moisture out, I think it makes my hair feel smoother and prevents some frizz! Especially since when hair is wet it's apparently most fragile. 😊

Okay, usually I wait to watch the video before commenting, but as I just dyed my own hair with Arctic Fox (being naturally a brunette and not bleaching it beforehand) and it turned out fabulously, I am *unreasonably* excited for this. Will update with my reaction once I've finished watching. Update: It is GLORIOUS! And it's funny that Alex mentioned Aquamarine being her favorite, as that's what I used to dye my hair, and it's this incredible dark teal color that I love!

Does it make a mess when you wash it out? I’ve been really afraid to use that color. The various pink shades don’t stain the tub but I’ve been worried about the darker ones. My son is getting married in June so I’ll be going to silver for that because his fiancé’s family is conservative tho some of them are dyed blonde. I don’t want to embarrass his parents.

@@debshaw680 not any more than any other at-home hair dye. There's a faint mark on my bathroom sink from when I (like an idiot) laid down the gloves I'd been wearing, but bleach took it right out. In terms of my tub/shower where I rinsed off, there's no stains. I did make sure, though, to rinse any dye out of the bottom of the tub and immediately wrapped my hair in a towel. I don't know what color your hair is now, but if you bleach it or it's light enough to take color easily, you might not even have very much dye to wash out. I basically slathered it on my head because my natural color is dark brown and I'm too chicken to bleach it by myself. Congratulations to your son, though I'm sorry his fiance's family is so close-minded. I come from a mostly conservative family myself so it will be interesting to see their reaction to my green hair. At least my scalp is it's normal color again!

Caitlyn did an AMAZING job. And it does kind of look like the dye helped your hair? Maybe it's just because it's not a super washed out colour, it's still vibrant and all, but it does look like it's added moisture. I'm predicting the "soup" is just going to be a really muddy brown, tbh. Maybe with some interesting highlights in direct light. I need to see you with all black hair before you go back to orange.

Prince's estate has been suing every company trying to use the name Purple Rain for anything. It's trademarked and even though there are guidelines as to whether or not one might mistake hair dye for...an album?...a bad movie?...I'm sure they got a letter from an attorney.

Mmm I think it’s probably because they can make a legal argument for it being named after the album/movie. The words “purple rain” were apparently in a song called Ventura Highway but Prince popularized it so it would probably hold water in court.🤷🏽‍♀️ Sidenote- it’s interesting what battles corporations are willing to fight and which ones they just don’t want to deal with.

Thanks to this channel I finally had the courage to have my hair dyed (in a salon, wearing a mask) rose gold. My hair's natural color is a blah-brown with no natural highlights of any kind. I've been using Purple Rain (or I guess Purple AF) now for a few years and its the one purple dye I've found that works so well with my hair, the colour sticks around for so long and then just gradually gets lighter and turns silver, it's such a nice shade!

Ok so the reason it didnt wash out is because your hair is so damaged that the conditioning of those products really clung to your blond hair! In other words it was a thursty bi*#×!...lol articfox actually has a bunch of really great things in there color and bleach to help protect and revitalize your hair those products are really quite amazing!! I lived seeing you do this alex and just wait till it fades to pastel your gonna love it even more!! Kaitlyn im so happy to see you lady and you did a fantastic job at sectioning the hair!! I've barely started, but I hope you do one half grey/black (maybe grey on top, with black underneath?) so that it's like a cloud. You could even do three "layers" with top layer that is grey, middle layer soup, bottom layer black.

Arctic Fox is a nice product, but the brand and brand owners have had some issues with their treatment of POC employees. The owner has also made some bad decisions with her animal care. I don’t want to make your mind up for you or anything, but it might be worth looking into if you’re considering supporting the brand long term.

Hair is better dyed the day AFTER bleaching. There’s something in the bleach that makes the hair not absorb into the strand as well the same day as the dye. The uv reactive ones change in backlight. That’s why some look patchy

Hey Alex been a fan for a while and love your hair videos! I used to dye my hair black all the time and basically found out I'm allergic in the roughest way possible. I had a reaction as well and found out I think it was ammonia? That I was allergic too, maybe you could check if that was in it? I know they do make ammonia free hair dyes :)

It looks amazing! You look like an exotic parrot (in the best way possible) super excited to see the final result. Artic fox seems really good quality, I've always heard good things but seeing how vibrant the colours washed out made me convinced!

Maybe you could split the other side into quarters and do both methods of soup application. You could use one batch of dye, do the Dan's swirl method, then blend it well. They both sound like interesting results and I'm so curious! Alex's hair looks fantastic! Great job Kaitlyn! Can't wait for the soup! I've tried Arctic Fox hair dye and I really liked my results. I used Violet Dream on my "earloops" sections where I have a lot of gray and it took pretty well when I used heat. I didn't lighten my hair at all. The color is bright enough to show against my medium brown hair. And it is quite conditioning. Good stuff!
