"That is the worst twist I've seen in a movie" Dude, I grew up on fairy tales and loved the Disney Princesses. When this movie came out I was a junior in high school and few of my girlfriends and I went to see it. We were all shook when the step mother broke the other slipper because in the original the step mother tripped the Duke and he dropped the slipper before he could try it on Cinderella; then Ella pulls the other slipper out of her apron, proving she was the girl they were looking for. And I really liked the Prince tagged along in this version because the Duke was always acting shady.

It`s finally my time to shine lmao never thought I`d get the chance to share something educational but Dylan, regarding the swing scene, in the Rococo period in France, going on a swing was dimmed indecent for women because it was seen as too sexualised an act, because of the swing`s up and down movement that resembled, well you know what to the French. Although the movie is not set in a specific period or country, the tale of Cinderella was popularised in France by Charles Perrault around the late 1600s and the Rococo period started approximately around the early 1700s so it makes sense in the movie that Ella would be a little bit reticent to letting the prince idk how you say it in English, swing her? :)) Also, like some pointed out, Cinderella is not her actual name but a nickname the stepmother and sisters give her to poke fun at her and to be malicious, in the actual story I don`t remember her actually having a given name. Maybe she did, but the storytellers never mentioned it. All in all, I had fun revisiting the original French version and Brothers Grimm`s one, having grown up loving this story.
