this video hits very close to home for me. As a filmmaker the west coast is a very special place for me coming from Maryland. I moved to Seattle on a whim after accepting a DOP position at an agency I didnt really like because it gave me the funds to do it very quickly with no preparation (no car). I spent literally every weekend in Mt Rainer, North Cascades, and Mt Baker with my IG friends there. I was truly happy and satisfied. Unfortunately I had to come back after being laid off and couldn't find another position quick enough. It's been about 2 years now and I still catch myself day dreaming about it. Thank you for making this video and bringing back my happiest memories

Thank you for sharing your story, it's crazy how different everyone's journey can be. Sorry that you got laid off and had to go through that emotional rollercoaster. I'm sure the best times are still ahead! Just keep pushing forward. Glad you enjoyed the video and that it brought back some good memories for you, that's what it's all about. Thanks again.

Hey Dylan, thank you for that motivational Video. I can relate to you feeling of having to create meaningful art. As I progressed in photography I always wanted to create better and better shots and felt depressed when I wasn't able to do that. In consequence of that I stopped taking photos for quite a while. When I took a small little digital Camera on a vacation with my family last week I regained that motivation to just document what I was seeing. Realizing that documenting the things I find beautiful around me is already enough to create "art". Its not always about creating the next masterpiece or whatever. I think that's the beautiful part of photography which I discovered again. I really love your videos. Keep up the great work!

oregone and washington are stunning, took many trips up there from LA as a kid, my dad would deliver News Van's across the country but a lot of them were sold up north. I planned on moving up there right around when portlandia came out "LOL" but it got too expensive and crazy so my wife and i eventually moved to chicago. I do miss the west "NATURE"

Nature out west is awesome! However, the cost of living really is outrageous and hard to justify. Being from Ohio, it’s been a big adjustment.

Thank you so much for that, Caleb! Depends on the job but for this particular trip I knew there’d be a need for extremes so I used a 16-35 2.8, a 70-200 2.8 and then a 50 1.4 to round it out.

Wonderful man! A beautiful reminder for us to follow what we love! Anyway, I was wondering what is your workflow on how you record video on Sony and capture images with the Fuji... Do you always have both cameras within your reach at all time ( I assume you slinging both bodies with you at all times)?? Or maybe do you bring a camera bag and only whip out specific camera for different circumstances?
@DylanSpitz Жыл бұрын
It’s kind of a pain, haha! I just have one on each shoulder on a strap. Sometimes I’ll use a peak design clip on a backpack strap for the Sony and sling the photo camera around my neck on a strap.

@@DylanSpitz i have an iPhone X, it can get some decent photos but what I am really looking for is that filmic look. The main problem with my main camera (the canon) is the dynamic range, the highlights are always overexposed and so on. I am trying to save up some money for a filmuji camera.
