yes that acapella version of my girl could never be reduplicated DAVID RUFFIN voice is absolutely impeccable!!! I really doubt that any singer today could imitate his silkin soulful voice not taking anything from the rest of the group but we all know that David`s and Eddie`s voice were the backbone of the group but all them togather brought their own gift to the group and I think I can speak for all TEMPTATIONS lovers that we will always think and love all of the temptations soul and funk they brought to the our lives TEMPTATIONS FOREVER ............

I am happy I lived in the days when this music was new and this is what we danced and balled to. Nothing today can compare to this Soul music from the golden age of real singers and musicians. Thank you for uploading this so we who love it can live it again, and those who didn't can learn what real music is.

Profiles in Pittsburgh Allegheny County PA it's late in the morning or early in the morning but I'm listening to this my girl little music is behind the scene of The Temptations and I finally hear brother Otis Williams coming through with my girl. I've heard all the rest of the lead singers but I'm so sorry that it took so long for me to truly hear him and his voice. Thank you for keeping this song in your files. Turning 80 and listening to all the songs over the years this one I like the best because of all your voices and the harmony without the music over playing the loveliness of all of you vocalists in the Motown musical industry. Sister forever Nora Parker

Thank you for this rare post. I have never seen or heard this a Capella version before. Perfect pitch, perfect timing, prefect harmonies, precision moves, and never even slightly off key. David Ruffin was an awesome singer. But it cannot be understated the importance of Melvin Franklin(bass) and Eddie Kendricks(1st tenor) to the Temptations' harmony. They were the bookends of the sound. The original lineup will always be the ONE; #respect. Thank you so much for posting this video Taylor Made.

I love this bareknuckle performance with very low music background! The Temptations set the bar so high that subsequent vocal groups with loads of talent couldn't reach the Temps bar that was visual as well as audio! And let's not forget the pivotal role that Cholly Atkins played in honing the Temptations choreography that had men in the audience mesmerized, and the women in the audience swooning and ooh-ing!

TEMPTATIONS FOREVER.THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER GROUP OF ENTERTAINERS IN ANY WAY ,SHAPE OR FORM..R&B,POP,COUNTRY,RAP,ROCK.WHO COULD EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE PERFECTION AND DEDICATION THAT THESE GENTLEMAN DISPLAYED FOR THEIR CRAFT.
@TheRealAliceSnow Жыл бұрын
@gregnormal5101 I admired their dedication to perfection as a unit. I do not adhere to placing labels on myself. Those labels that others fall for I scrutinize the exact meaning of the root word. Fan is a fanatic, which means you are subconsciously admitting to being a fanatic, lack of control. Look it up, I am sure that you know. This group of men reminded me of my father. They would be in my father's age range because I was just a toddler when they were really coming on the scene. However, perfection is noted, but like I stated, I admire them, I am not a fanatic over any man made objects. I hope that I am clear. This was a peculiar question 🤔...

Back in the day,EVERYTHING was recorded live with NO overdubs.What you hear is "bleedthrough" that couldn't be stopped by the engineer.Even if they were in a vocal booth,it couldn't be totally isolated.Remember, this was recorded in a HOUSE,not a professional studio built from scratch.Given that fact,Berry Gordy worked miracles.But I understand what you're saying.True a capella would be with no instruments at all.

The voices are acapella and they have headsets on listening to the music as they sing to put the actual record together. The voices were then dubbed over the video to produce this video. But the voices were not stripped from a recording. Think about how it used to be done back in the day. A lot of voice work and then it would be mastered in with music.
@Seymour557510 жыл бұрын
I do not see anyone wearing a headset I do not think they needed a headset to sing this song that is how good they were.

Oh yeah, he's correct...this is what it sounded like in the recording booth, they could hear music in their headsets for chord progression, and keeping time....this recording is outstanding, hard to imagine having a voice as rich as Ruffin's was....he was incredible, as was the group as a whole....amazing...
