When I was a kid this was the amazing, we did not think of the voice quality, it was just the idea of games having voices in general that astonished me.

Oh, I most definitely saw how bad the voice-acting was as a teen. This was in the age of games like Metal Gear Solid 2, Starcraft and Grand Theft Auto 3, which were pushing the kind of voice acting we'd expect out of video games. Voices in video games were a thing for years and years and years before DW3 came out. Still a fun game, but eek.

I know this is an old video, but honestly, Dynasty Warriors 9 might have voice acting that rivals 3 in its hilarious awfulness. Sun Jian's voice actor literally sounds like he's reading off of cue cards that are slow to change: "Fear! The Tiger! Of Jiangdong!"
