Shu in my opinion was the most ragtag empire ever razed. They were comprised of the most powerful remnants of decimated forces. Zhao Yun was the last remnant of Gongsun Zan after he was destroyed by Yuan Shao, Huang Zhong and Wei Yan were former retainers of Han Xuan who were spared by Guan Yu, Ma Chao and Ma Dai were the last survivors of Ma Teng's failed attempt to kill Cao Cao, Meng Huo and Zhu Rong came in after submitting to him, Xu Shu, Jiang Wei and Xiahou Ba joined after being beaten

Shu: Rags to riches story. A horrible business partner for not fulfilling their end of the bargain (refuse to give a region back to Wu after their alliance). Wei: ambitious man (Cao Cao), good at sales talking random officers to join him, he must be a telemarketer. Wu: Tweener group. Fan of tigers. Most creative in battle tricks and tactics. Suffered a lot of freak character deaths in DW8. Fire attack. Jin: The clean up group task of ridding the bottom of the barrel leftovers of Shu, Wei and Wu after the major 3 kingdom wars. They are still recognized as part of Wei.

Thats what I like about Dynasty Warriors though. With the exception of some liek Dong Zhuo and Sima Yi, they paint everyone with a good and bad side based on who or what side you are playing as. In positive light, Cao Cao is shown as a progresive thinking mastermind who appreciates people not for title, but skill. Negative light he is a arogant tyrant who stomps over people. Same with Liu Bei, who is either the benevolent lord, or the stubborn fool.

And even Sima Yi has a good side by now. I actually roll my eyes everytime someone begins to whine "But in Actual History/the Novel, *insert some random Char or Event* was completly different, mimimimi...". We KNOW that, alright? It's just that some of us fans don't give a damn about that! As far as I'm concerned, Koei did a good Job by making the various Chars actually likeable instead of the scumbags they often were in Real Life. Sorry if I offended anyone, just had to get that off my chest.

Bryan Terok I always thought in the past that Wei are the bad guys, Shu are the good guys, Wu are the neutral guys and Jin being the schemers. But after playing DW8 Xtreme Legends for a long time I came to realize that there is no such thing as good and bad kingdoms as all of them are driven based on their different interpretation of what is good and bad. PS: Liu Bei is not really that benevolent and as he thinks if you fully analyzed the events in DW8

The real life Liu Bei was a hardass, crafty and cunning. Romance of the Three Kingdoms however turned him into an emotional pussy, and palmed off many of his achievements to Zhuge Liang and Xu Shu, making him look like a useless leader. And sadly that’s how he is perceived in the Three Kingdoms media now.

Try playing an online game called Kingdom Heroes. The videos of the game may look boring at first, but trust me, this game is awesome. Especially on how you can join one of the three kingdoms (Shu, Wei, and Wu) and do Kingdom Wars! There are different towns and villages across the map, and you can dominate/takeover them as Shu if you'd like during the wars. Of course, you wouldn't be fighting them yourselve. You'd have a massive of players joining you. :) Try it. You will not regret it.

Shu was toppled by a Sima controlled Wei. They DID show the necessary skills to win. They knew how to hide their true intentions and were capable military leaders and politicians. They knew how to govern the country well and how to handle external affairs with both Wu and Shu properly. Wu and Shu were dominated by fools while Wei still had several capable men. The Sima's helped Wei remain powerful till the end while the leaders of the others kingdoms failed, thus, the Sima's did deserve to win.

I think you are a bit mixed up about what I was talking about. This whole conversation I have been talking about Sima controlled Wei. Sure, Cao Wei's leadership may have been bad but the Sima's was good. Xiahou Ba left because he feared for his life when Sima Yi took control because of his close association with Cao Shuang. Not because of any lack of leadership skills. Shu's leadership was way worse. There was the corrupt Han Hao, the foolish Liu Shan, and the overly persistent Jiang Wei.

Actually, before the Battle of Yiling, Liu Bei's army was probably numerically superior to Wu's army. Just a shame Shu was completely routed in that battle.

The reason they lost at Yiling was mainly because Shu lacked a naval force to engage on the water. This caused Liu Bei to set up camps across the shore while unable to engage Lu Xun, on which Lu Xun simply sat for months until Liu Bei dropped his guard down and launched a fire attack. A pity, because Shu was rapidly beating the Wu Army until they reached the river.

naw, I don't hate Shu or anything but honestly they were no better morally than any other kingdom, in fact many of the people in Shu were just plain hypocritical. The Sima's deserved to win because they showed the necessary skills that it took to win and were wiling to do whatever necessary to achieve victory, even if it made them look bad. They understood that just by being a "good guy" nothing would change and sooner or later history would repeat itself with another period of chaos.
