a shame that they didn't make Ma Chao respond to Wang Yi's remark when they meet. Like, the whole game Wang Yi craves vengeance on Ma Chao so much, but he seems to pay no mind for her 😂

Koei doesn't seem willing to step away from this sanitized image of Ma Chao. It's a shame, cuz it could actually give his character some layers without outright making him a total villain. He commits atrocities in the name of vengeance against Cao Cao, then tries to turn a new leaf with Liu Bei, only to be met with someone who has directly sufferred from his actions in the past. It'd be a whole more interesting than this "press X to say Justice" character. Apart from Wang Yi, I think the only other time we hear any allusion to his darker past is Liu Bei saying something like "This is your chance to right the wrongs of the past" at Tong Gate in DW4.

Ma Chao is cool, as well as Zhao Yun. Both are spear-users, both are work with Shu, and their weapons is some sort of cool too :)

Always liked him since DW5, here he's really good on his moveset alone so he doesn't even have to rely on musous to kick ass. Also a big fan of his voice actor, he doesn't play much else so I almost only hear him as Ma Chao. So yeah I like him both as a character and to play as.

Well Zhao Yun > Everyone who is not Lu Bu, so isn't really fair to compare Ma Chao to him. Zhang Fei would be a better comparison.

Did you know that Ma Chao was labeled The War God of Xi Liang (Chiến Thần). His strength in combat could even compare to that of Lu Bu himself. In the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the fight between Ma Chao and Zhang Fei was so long that they eventually to called off the fight and fought again at night.

You have to complete all the star objectives in previous stages, there are about 4-5 of them for each, once you have completed them and you reach a certain stage you can veer off onto the hypothetical route.

IMO rather than making hypothetical route, koei could just maximize the historical route.. i mean, the end of shu is should be when adou surrender to sima zhao, the end of wei is could be when cao rui dies after battle of wuzhang plains, the end of wu could be when they fail in assisting zhuge dan rebellion in shoucun and the end of jin is either when sima zhao declares himself as prince of jin or when sima yan declares himself as the new emperor of the jin dynasty of course this is a lot of asking but i'm just saying.. oh, well..
