A remastered old Dynasty Warriors collection can totally work. I would love more people experience the challenging difficulty of the PS2-era Dynasty Warriors games. Maybe they can also include the very first Dynasty Warriors fighting game just to make the collection more appropriate.

Exactly, DW3 was my favorite as well thankfully I have the PS2 still, but not everybody does and that’s why it makes sense for these to make a comeback. But I’m losing hope as time flies by lol

I’ve joined musou gang due to pirate warriors series but watched my friend playing countless hours on PS2 era Warriors games. I did play older titles on my emulator recently and I just cannot go back to older titles and oldest I can go back is Orochi warriors due to three character swap.

Warriors Orochi on the PS2 was quality, being able to play both DW/SW in the same game was a hack n slash dream. PW is such a great series, love the combat and combo variations.

Hot take: I don’t think this will work out as well as some people think it would. I think the real issue here is people want a dynasty Warriors game that is harder than what the last couple of games have been. As someone who still has a 360 and has access to Dynasty Warriors 4 and 5, they don’t play as smooth as some of you remember and if you’re asking for what would essentially be an updated version of all of these games, it would essentially be what we currently have with less characters and weapons

I agree with they haven’t aged well, and I reason with slight updates like the directional lock for example to enable an actual chance at curbing the difficulty curve in these games. That alone with updated graphics gives console gamers & departed PS2 owners a chance at some of Koei’s best entries. However, I see your point in it being a massive flop and fluff of nothing to take advantage of a consumer base that reeks of nostalgia.

Fair enough. 4 was quite different from 3 & 5 especially story and weapon wise, so I can see that but still might be worth getting if it ever happened.

I know I'm probably like the only person who thinks this, but DW 6 is still my favorite DW game. It felt like the last game in the series to actually be challenging and interesting. The one's before I find have very clunky combat and controls, and the one's after seemed to take away the difficulty for a more speedrun style of "finish levels as fast as you can" That being said, I do hope we get a re-release of all the original games, but I imagine Koei would find a way to mess it up.

Just in time as I typed the list in another similar video-yup, Warriors games really need a collection revamp. (Take note, I used revamp rather than remaster as there will be a lot to add if such happens) All titles at least widescreen only with best based graphics, full content in one release and little extra -DW origins pack (DW1+DW2)-optional but worth a mention perhaps? -DW3 & SW1 XLCE -DW4 & SW2 XLCE with Empires -DW5 Special with Empires-adds LV5 weapons shaped on DW4's LV11 weapons, obtainable only through Chaos difficulty+every previous costumes -DW6 DX with Empires-I saw someone from Bilibili overhauled some characters' moveset, so there's a start. This shall be the biggest overhaul, thus the DX name -SW3 Z with Empires-stupid decision for take a try on Wii first, don't you think? -DW Gundam 1 DX-I know this sounds impossible, but still. -SW Chronicles DX&3rd -WOZ Ultimate-adds LV11 weapons from DW4XL and LV6 weapons from SW2XL, become unique skilled 5th weapons similar to personal items from vanilla WO1+every previous costumes (In this case, Yoshimoto Imagawa awkwardly got color variant SW1 model in WO1 but only one color variant SW2XL model in WO2/WOZ)

I would guess Nintendo wanted to reserve a warriors port for Koei on the Wii and KT was like…. “Uh cool we’ll do SW3?! It’s next in line so why not?” Hindsight is 20/20, I’m sure thought it was an amazing idea originally lol but yeah…

I know many fans like you who don’t even bother with the newer releases because the older games are so much more enjoyable to them. I’m in this boat, but I’ve just coped with taking the newer games for what they are, and giving them that chance at least. Still, my heart is with the older titles in terms of quality and difficult

@@smileyday Yeah, I was doing 200+ combo juggles with his Saber and the move set is broken and satisfying . His later weapons are trash and unsatisfying. Although in DW7, his running Mosue attack is busted after some upgrades.

TBH they could just update old hd ports of the older titles: Dynasty Warriors 4 hyper and Dynasty Warriors 5 special. After a few tweaks, they could release them for steam/modern consoles. As for a bundle, maybe just 1-3 can be bundled together as a classic collection.

Not a bad idea at all. Take the engine from DW4 Hyper & 5 Special for a port to Steam. And 1-3 for a classic collection would still Interest me enough to get!

I'd say include XL and E in them as I feel Empires can work just being a Mode, especially if combined with Conquest and Ambition in DWX.

Yes given the proper engine it’s really just a mode. Kinda like how Conquest mode for DW7 was.

I’m going to be 100% with you on this. I love the idea, and I definitely want it. Will it happen? Maybe if it starts raining Lu Bu’s. I honestly just want to see where Omega Force is gonna go with these games. Right now I’m on my way to buy a PC, I will be more than satisfied with the emulators, but I’ll probably still buy a remake or remaster if they actually make one, because I’m a sucker for these games. 😆

PC was a huge move for me with emulation and holding out on current gen hardware. Although I enjoy consoles still and would appreciate a remake, im content with the classics, but it will be very interesting to see where Koei & Omega goes with musou warriors moving forward.

Would love to have all the DW and SW remastered with XL,DW5 and SW2 Empires, would be nice to have SW3 with XL+Empires, SW4 standalone too, oh and lets not forget about Warriors Orochi Z for PC. I'd for sure buy DW2-5+XL,SW1-2+XL,DW5 and SW2 Empires and Warriors Orochi Z collections.

Yes Warriors Orochi Z is the best WO game iMO. Still play it from time to time, just unfortunate its JP since I can’t read kanji lol but still thankful to be able to play it region unlocked.

I'm actually more surprised you didn't even talk about NVidia RTX Remix.. Nowadays, game companies doesn't see much profit in Remastering old games. So Nvidia just take that chance and give gamers more power to Remaster old games by themselves. The only problem is that KOEI games have such weird encryption that modding one game is complicated

It is still baffling to me that Koei hasn't recognized the huge demand for HD remasters of 3-5. The potential for profit is obvious. Not to mention 3-5 is where DW gained most of it's Western audience. It seems like the more time goes on, the more Koei wants to focus on the market in the south/east Asia territories and to ignore their fans in the west.

Starting at DW6, the AI became less aggressive. Officers hardly even fight back. That imo was the fall of the games. They need to bring back a challenge. Yes, mindless hack and slash is fun, but they started focusing more on "combo" hits rather than a challenge. Same for Samurai Warriors, it's crazy how they just focus on big combo strings now rather than the battle itself.

Love me some DW 1-5 Vol 1 DW 6-8 remastered (DW 6 with DW6S comtent, 7 merged with 7CL (next to 8 with content from DW8XLDX (from the switch) SW 1-4 with XL contents . Warriors Orochi Z with the ability to have english voices. Heck maybe every empires remastered game available sometime later. With every DLC.. Strikeforce 2 with english dub and everything translated. Maybe. DW 10 not rebooted like DW6 would be nice. Maybe an MMO mode supported up to 100 players with up to 10 people per squad. Despite the faction they joined by doing quest, pve/pvp. Or maybe have tournaments. . Have all weapons/armors and. More.

I would love to play the classic dynasty warriors games on modern consoles, However after the disaster of some recent re released classic games like the Star Wars battlefront titles, I think I would wanna wait till release in case if it turns out the games are buggy or if they use terrible AI Upscaling like aspyr did for battlefront, If Koei does decide to do it then great, but I will wanna wait till release and lower my expectations

The complete edition on switch comes with a lot of content, and is one of the best ways to play DW8XL. Graphics are actually pretty good for switch standards as well

It was pretty terrible at launch, but I recently revisited the PC port and it has it's bright spot I just take it for what it is. But I agree DW10 should go a different route.

I just want to rewrite this. Although an HD collection of the PS2 Dynasty Warriors games, has been desirable for quite some time now, I personally am not banking too much on that idea. Again, this is just me, but the ship for an HD collection of PS2 Dynasty Warriors has sailed. I am actually looking forward more if Koei and Omega Force, explore the idea of a new Dynasty Warriors game instead. I am more excited to see new ideas, than to revisit the old.

I say remake the older dynasty warriors games as they are with updated graphics and using DW8 as the base. In other words lets have a DW3 or DW5 remake with updated graphics and textures but with the movesets and what not from DW8. Only characters that were playable in those games would be included. If you think about it all the voices are there they just need the characters models to be used and possibly just give it a level up system instead of the collecting of swords and shields. Been playing DW games since 2002.
