The Dynasty Warriors 4 version of Lu Bu's theme is one kickass theme which inspires players to march to the field and lay the smackdown on enemy goons nonstop. Heck, whenever Lu Bu's theme plays either at Hulao Gate or anywhere else... RUN!!!!! Crush em All is another kickass theme that plays whenever the characters are about to do something extraordinary and "Into the Era" from Dynasty Warriors 9 is a majestic theme that heralds the beginning of an unforgettable adventure. As for Circuit? It's a feel good theme that plays during the ending of DW 8: XL/CE's hypothetical routes, knowing for a fact that all major characters of one faction live on and unite China under their banner.

Honestly couldn't even remember any DW9 tracks until you played them. The rest I mostly know from being able to choose them in Empires games and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. Hu Lao Gate from DW4 and 5 are my favourites

I completely agree with the top pick. Whenever I think of a Dynasty Warriors music, I would immediately think of Arena. Even Koei agreed that it's the best ost they've ever made by remixing/recreating it like 5+ times. My favorite rendition is "Steal A March" from DW Online, that one is right below the original for me.

I love Vanish such a good Soundtrack when I played Lu bu's story and this theme pops up at the battle of xiapi after the flod attack hits, it feels like "yeah this is the final Battle" or strenght and weakness also a nice track. I really enjoyed DW8XL and in my opinion Lu bus theme in that game was the best.

Glad to see your list! Surprised no yi ling themes are on here. I remember each year when a DW game cam out my friends and I were always like what yi ling theme will we get? Always tragic and gets in the feels of liu bei’s loss. And another one is in dw5 when you fight Guan Yu I love unusual gravity. And when that final attack happens to guan yu it’s epic! And the music is so good! Love your list though! These lists are always subjective 😂

I think only about 4-5 of the ones you included would make my top 20, which is anything is a testament to just how many different bangers this series has that could arguably be among its best. DW easily has some of my favorite video game soundtracks and it really doesn't get the credit it deserves

Personally a lot more dw4 tracks are at the top for me but I’m glad Eve is in the top 3. Always loved saving Liu Chan and having a freaking 2 minute musou to fight off hoards of enemies with such a sick beat playing in the background.

As much as I respect your personal preference, there are so many BANGERS left out and I had to list some of them (Mostly DW 5,6,7 as those are my favs) DW5 King of sadness, basically represented the fall of Shu, a fallen dynasty vibe and perfect match for the sunset of the stage DW5 Memories. Best encyclopedia theme which you didn't touch in your list. DW6 The battle without justice. Feels like a raging fire at the start but when as soon as the chorus starts, it is like Lu Xun's plan worked and everything fell apart in fire. DW6 Beat it. Perfectly matched with the mysterious mist of Cheng Du stage. DW7 Large Feather. GOATED fan castle theme. Fall of the great Guan Yu and basically his legend in music. DW7 Last Battle. TRUE GOAT. Combined a few soundtracks in DW7 and concluded this game in the most breathtaking way. Can't believe not even in your TOP25. DW7 Hide Emotion. A very underrated one but got that badass vibe all over it. DW7 is my fav soundtrack and I may put like 10 in my TOP 25 (Played all installments since DW4) DW8 have bangers as well but I think Solo is better than all you put in TOP 25. Anyway, decent list but can't believe some of these missed out, especially Last Battle, Memories and King of sadness.

Wow I love this list! I must say mine is probably quite different if I buckled down and did the research, but I love your enthusiasm with the music and whole series in general. I agree it’s hard to crunch even to a top 20😂. As a big fan of 6 as well I’m happy with all the music inclusions and the love you still show it. I would say you included quite a bit of mine but my top 5 you didn’t include would be Vanish- 8 XL Wall of fate- 4 Chase the wave- 3 Male roar- 7 Literally any theme that goes with the battle of chengdu (Jin vs shu). They have been undefeated with those themes matching the climactic battle vibe.

YES! Arena is an awesome track! I've never played DW 3 but I heard it when it was called "Steal a Match" in DWO. Ever since then I loved it. One track I also love, though sad, is Hopeful Pain. I think from DW8. It was the battle where Zhuge Liang Died and Sima Yi first thought it was one of his strategies. The song itself at times feels like a dragon or a bird gliding through the air but struggling to remain there and slowly losing height... Was that description too cheesy?

let's be honest.even though DW6 has a bad reputation,but the soundtracks & cutscenes are the best(maybe DW7 has a slightly better cutscenes).I remember playing DW5E and I'm really trying so hard to find the soundtrack from 6. You've never played the XL versions have you? First there was the mistake of crest of thirst in DW8 when it actually came from a DW6 expansion, but also you're missing out on a lot of good XL tracks such as Vanish- Xiapi and 'Strength and Weakness' which could have been easy contenders for top music pieces imo. You should listen to the DW8XL soundtrack sometime, it might just surprise you how many hidden gems there are in that soundtrack.

There’s so many good songs, is honestly be interested in your top 50 even if it’s just a list and not a full video. I was surprised seeing so many DW9 entries but looking back I guess they were pretty good, I think just for me DW9 is probably the only DW I didn’t really pay much attention to the music fr and they kinda all got lost in my ears tbh but I gotta say I think most of my favorite tracks are definitely hailing from DW3, DW6, DW7, DW8. DW6 soundtrack is definitely slept on the most😭 Solid list you have though🙏🏾 Also I feel like certain battles at least for me DW would always slap on were The Wu Zhang Plains, Chi Bi, Fan Castle, and Chang Ban always slapped for me in almost all the games. Cause Solo is in my top 10 for sure

"Ignition" from DW6 will always be the most nostalgiac song from the series for me. The Yellow Turban Rebellion in 6 was the first battle I ever played in a DW game and I remember watching my dad play it time and time again. I am always thinking about it, even after all this time.

Fantastic list. A few honorable mentions for me: - In Full Bloom DW4 - The layered guitars, and haunting melody, and the guitar solo shreds so hard. This is still my favorite theme for the Guan Du stage. - The Mountain DW8 - The energy of this theme is exhilarating! Assaulting Mt. Ding Jun was absolutely epic with this track playing. - Jin Overture DW8 - I love the Koei finally introduced specific themes for each Kingdom, which added great leitmotifs and musical cohesion to the overall soundtrack. The Jin theme is easily my favorite, especially the Crossroads variation. - A Long Time Ago DW4 - The background track to this game's encyclopedia has always stuck with me. Such a great melodic piece with the piano and flute, the perfect ambiance reading about these larger than life heroes. This theme inspired me to read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novels.

Another great vid! Yea I’m in particular very fond of DW7 soundtrack overall. Swordsman in the plains,primitive power, and Wu Zhang Plains theme in DW5 are some of my favorites. Arena from DW3 is my favorite too, good nostalgia of waking up early on Christmas break to grind Guan Yu’s Escape with my brother. Grandpa watching westerns on the couch, my grandma making turkey bacon and scrambled eggs… can almost smell it when I hear this song. ❤ 💪

it's a bit late to comment atm but when i first see this, my picks are Intercepter, Men of Intelligence, Eve, DW3 Arena, dark angel, in full bloom, anger and grudge, siege, frenzy moon, Hide Emotion, march of Destruction, ambition to Take Over, heavenly strike, and yeah, for DW9 is Gaze upon the fate, according to the "most listen by me" on my music app. turns out my music taste is weird but i am still happy with this list, like... the songs on the list also deserve. About Arena, I think the reason most of us love that song is not by DW3 but mainly by WO3, Hmmm,,,,, One thing to add that my experience with Interceptor is quite unique, I first heard that song in DW5ChaosModeGuide's video about DW5 DaQiao battle of Xia Kou. And playing as DW5 Daqiao on that battle, you have to vs Gan Ning which the ost will change to another song but after beating Gan Ning, DW5ChaosModeGuide EDITED the ost back to interceptor, but not at the start like Koei ost switch mechanic, he EDITED IT FADED IN AT THE PRE-GUZHANG CHORUS AND THAT COMPLETELY KILLED ME WHEN I WAS A KID. that's the reason ive been hooked up with interceptor. I also want to say that "huge" ost like restart, last battle, thousand suns, capricious win, and those Wuzhang Plain/Yi Ling ost are abit overrated, none of those shares the same beat as me. I think i'm not a strict listener especially when it comes to KOEI's music, I can enjoy like 98% of their song. of course the ost i mentioned above are my best, and the rest are like nah, okay i will listen to this song for that battle without feeling annoyed and change the ost to my favorites, no problem. but i also want to talk about my least favorite ost, I have to always change to something else when I play battle has these songs (for some ppl is definitely Kid Around Ska) but for me it's ISOLATION, Oriential rush, solo and Trick & Magic. sorry, not sorry, especially to Guo Jia's lovers. those are hard to listen and just not my type. I dont want to mention any Dw234 ost as my least favorite, those ost are just precious, I wont say I love all ost from those first games, the reason that i only have 2-3 songs i found quite confusing, and on the other hand, at the time the game released, those were already masterpiece, just like SW1 ost, and the more the game developed, the more diverse it gets. some songs are just a bit strange to hear for no reason and some song sound like they from another game, I can't find the MASA vibe in there.

Wall of Fate, Struggle for Existence, interceptor, and Avenging battle from DW4 live in my head. The Nanman stage in 5 is way too dance-able with headphones 😂 Great list! Good to hear that nine had some good music. I really couldn’t get into the game itself, and I’ve played two through eight as well as the samurai Warriors series minus the third one.

“Crush em All” aka the Dynasty Warriors 7 intro sounds kickass and it somehow fits the intro cutscene with Zhao Yun laying the smackdown on enemy forces and display such badassery while taking care of Baby Liu Shan. “Into the Era” from Dynasty Warriors 9 is a bombastic theme which heralds the unfolding of an epic tale of heroism, loyalty and brotherhood. As far as Lu Bu’s themes go, I would choose the one from Dynasty Warriors 4 because it’s kickass and it reminds me of Brock Lesnar or Goldberg stepping in the ring to smash somebody!
