Great detailed video of the install. One day 60/40 axles are on my list for my JL Wrangler. We overland all over the USAs southern part from east to west since we live in Texas. During Covid lock down i installed the Teraflex 3.5" Alpine lift with Falcon series 3 adjustable shocks and Falcon adjustable steering stablizer. All Steersmarts Yeti steering components. Love the lift so I'm almost ready for the axle swap. Thanks for the video it is one of the best axle install videos I've come across. Thanks Empty Pockets

My pleasure; it was a pretty fun upgrade for the most part. The end result was worth all the physical pain it caused me ahhahah!

Well done sir! I'm in the market and want 60’s on 40's (currently have stock Rubicon axles on 37's). After your Moab trip, would you recommend doing 60's front and rear?
@JustEmptyEveryPocket5 ай бұрын
If you’re going 40s YES to PR62s front and rear. For me, 37 is max; I would have to give my garage a lift-kit if I had 40s 🤪 in Moab my PR44U/PR62 combo was absolutely dialed. Loved it. Also, for 40s it’s best to have hydraulic steering.

Great video once more! I have the same setup as you in the rear and love it! Because things broke at different times, I have the Spicer Ultimate Dana 44 up front. At least it gives me some redundancy with having an air locker in the rear, and an e-locker in the front, but I wished I had Dynatrac on both ends. I went with the Falcon shocks after watching your video about them, and I'm glad I did. What a difference it makes indeed. Btw, did you weld the shock skid-plates or just bolted them on?
@JustEmptyEveryPocket6 ай бұрын
I just bolted them for now. Will weld them on when I get home from Moab. That being said, they haven’t moved.

Just ordered the same setup. I also have the teraflex lift in a 3 inch with falcon series 3 shocks. Did you ever install the rear sway bars?
@JustEmptyEveryPocket2 ай бұрын
You won't regret it; this setup is AWESOME! I'm still not running a sway-bar in the rear; I don't even notice it. I did a round-trip to Moab and back (~3000mi/4800km) and never felt any instability at all on the highway. On the trails, I probably get a small amount more articulation without it. I kept the tabs so that if I do decide it needs a bar I can get them welded back on in a spot that works. After a summers worth of wheeling, the ONLY issue I have had was that somehow I managed to overfill the rear diff and I had some gear oil coming out of my ARB Locker Solenoid. Other than that, which was totally on me, the PR44U/PR62 along withe the ARB lockers have been amazing!

Great video with lots of detail points. What type and brand of diff fluid did you use for the front PR44?
@JustEmptyEveryPocket6 ай бұрын
I use Canadian Tire brand non-synthetic. If you’re in the USA, Castrol would be my go-to. Also, you do not need a limited slip additive since these are open differentials.

I'm in vancouver. I will definitely look up at CT for the fluid. Thanks again

@@OFF_THE_HWY_ADVENTUREit’s good stuff; my pal Jason has been using it in his ProRock 60s for 10y and they’re still going strong. His is a daily driver on 40s :P

I have PR44 as my front axel but not sure what type of fluid to use. So far I use 85w90 (I think that's the right type). I also have eaton e-lockers with 37's
@JustEmptyEveryPocket6 ай бұрын
I use 80W90 front and rear; nowhere near hot enough for the 140 weight. Double check the eaton manual; I don’t know anything about them or their requirements.

Thanks! It was an adventure from start to finish. They worked flawlessly in Moab and my latest trip to Southern British Columbia. Super happy with how everything is workin. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it.
