@@17matt95 Yep I couldn't agree more. He's got really sound mechanics. He was an 18 year old kid playing in a professional league of grown men. I've watched him for many years in Australia, and he shot the ball well from the line his whole junior career. I could tell he was nervous at the start of the G-League season, and his shooting improved significantly as the season progressed. He even shot 45% from three over his last nine games. He'll be at least a decent shooter in the NBA with more reps. As a youngster he was too fast, shifty, and long for opponents, so he got to the rim at ease. He didn't really NEED to shoot from the outside much, so I'm confident his shooting will come around.

As an Australian hoops nerd, I'm more of a Dyson fan than any one NBA team. In saying that, the Spurs are my dream scenario for Dyson's development. I genuinely believe his best NBA comparison is Dejounte Murray. Dejounte is the perfect blueprint for Daniels to model his game after.... so being on the same team as him would be the perfect way for him to develop into what Dejounte has become! He can learn from Dejounte himself. I'm crossing my fingers and praying to all the gods that the Spurs pick him 9th! 🙏 🙏🙏

He damn near plays exactly like Derrick White. When Derrick white is playing confident and in rhythm he’s a top 4 guy on a team and i can see the same outcome with Daniels. He doesn’t need to be a star on his team, but be a star in his role. Versatile high impact players like him are more valuable than the league makes it seem.

I don’t see how he’s more naturally talented than Jaden Hardy. He’d probably make a good role player, but Hardy is way more prolific at the difficult stuff in basketball which is why he had the ball in his hands more than Dyson this season.

@@chriskeesee7508 I think that's fair about his scoring, but as you know, there's much more to basketball than scoring. Guys like LaMelo and Josh Giddey don't put up huge scoring numbers often, but their value as passers, rebounders, and their amazing feel for the game make them extremely impactful players. Dyson's scoring will come around too. He's very young and improving at a crazy rate. I've been following Dyson's progress since he was literally a little kid (I'm Australian), and he's stepped up his whole young career at each new level. His confidence, maturity, work ethic, and intelligence make me confident his scoring will improve each year to begin his NBA career. I think his best NBA comparison is actually Dejounte Murray. If he can model his game after Dejounte.... I think he can improve at a similar rate that Dejounte did. Dejounte is an All-Star now, and I think Daniels *could* be in a few years too.

I'm an Aussie, so I've been following Dyson's progress since he was literally a little kid. Schmitz has been singing his praises for years when nobody else in the US had him going first round. I like the fit for the Blazers, but I think Dyson wouldn't get many minutes behind Dame and Simons.

Yes he is!! I've been saying this for a long time. You're the only other person I've seen make that comparison. I'm an Aussie hoops junkie, so I've been following Dyson's progress for many years now. I think his game is a hybrid or Scottie Pippen and Dejounte Murray. Not as athletic as Pippen and not as good of a shooter as Dejounte (yet), but I think he has shades of those two, along with a little bit of Lonzo Ball. He's more Pippen/Dejounte than Lonzo/Giddey in my opinion. Not a passing wizard like Giddey and Lonzo, but more of a steady efficient passer.... and all-round player like Pippen and Dejounte.

Imo he’s very very similar to lonzo. long rangy guard who looks to play make and is excellent defensively but lacks shot creation and will struggle shooting early in his career which will limit his overall half court offense and ability to be a lead ball handler

Yep Lonzo is a good comparison. I actually think Dejounte Murray is a better comparison though. Dyson is more steady and efficient like Dejounte, than flashy and loose like Lonzo. Similar athlete to Dejounte as well. Not "explosive", but shifty, long, and quick like a cat.

Here's why: 6th to the Pacers he's playing for Rick Carlisle who doesn't play rookies. 7th to the Blazers he's stuck behind Dame and Simons. I really like the fit for him on the Pels at 8th. The Spurs picking 9th is my favourite landing spot for him, as I think his best NBA comparison is actually Dejounte Murray. Who better to model his game after and learn from than Dejounte himself! 10th is the Wizards, which is a mess of an organisation. 11th is the Knicks, who are even more of a mess than the Wizards. 12th to OKC would be a dream come true for me with Aussies Giddey and Daniels on the same team. 13th to the Hornets would be great too, as I think he'd fit RIDICULOUSLY well with LaMelo and Rozier. I hope he lands in one of those organisations that will be a good fit for his development, and he'll be a good fit with their current rosters. Fingers crossed for the young fella. He's going to be VERY good. Maybe not straight away like Giddey was, but the fans of whichever team lands him will fall in love with his defense, maturity, and intelligence. Dyson's offense will catch up quicker than people think too. 💪💪
