If you can end the turn with a lvl 4 pendulum effect monster, hop eares can synchro for metaphys hours to both negate an effect on field and steal a monster.

For that funny interaction I'll test it in Endymion as a one-of. I play Destrudo anyway, so it isn't like it was hard to get to level 6 with it. The new Locust card is another target that works and a level 6 monster on the field like a Jackal King or Chronograph Sorcerer can be used to go into Omega/Crystal Wing. Another cool, but niche idea I had was to play it with level 2 monsters on the field to get an Herold of the Arc Light out of it.

The best case of being able to use that effect I can see would be using something like darkwurm or harmonizing magician if that's even being used anymore.

Jelly cannon looks quite good. Because forcing the monster back into a deck prevents its graveyard effect that would trigger by destroying it. Which is a large part of the game now.

Something else I wouldn't sleep on is Infinitrack Brutal Dozer. It enables an infinitrack engune for dedicated earth machine decks. You can tribute an earth machine to special summon it, then special summon an infinitrack from deck. If you get trencher, you can make river stormer and search or foolish an earth machine. Then, you can later use trencher to bring back the brutal dozer as another body to extend combos. Alternatively you can search tunneler, which lets you avarice 5 earth machines to draw 3. All the cards are dirt cheap right now, so it wouldn't hurt to pick it up.

I use desert locust in my beetrooper deck. I go into halqlifibrax with sting the poison and any extender, I summon phantom king hydride from deck (level 3 dark tuner, can act as a non tuner for synchros) on the turn pass, halq into desert locust for hand discard, then quick synchro into Trishula for another.

Hop rabbit can already be pretty useful in Crystrons, I think, but if we get needlefiber in the tcg I think desert locust would definitely be run. It's obviously a target for needlefiber, but it's a good level to go into other things like dawn dragster and quariongandrax, especially since crystrons can end turn with level 1/2/3s on the board and other low levels tuners easily.

I think that people are sleeping on the new rank 8 dragon support we got this set. Together with the level 8 Dangers and the usual level 8 support it becomes really easy to make a cheesy one-shot-kill deck out of it. Is it competitive? No, not at all. But it is a working strategy and pretty fun to play. Also, people are sleeping on the Draco Berserker of Tenyi: It doesn't negate, but it's a very strong mash of Borrelsword Dragon and Ghost Ogre. And it's a generic level 8 synchro (sidenote: Master of the Tenyi might become useful in the future as it's a pretty generic link 3 with 3 arrows towards it's controller's field). And last but not least, Unchained Abomination has massive potential, once we have less destruction-proof cards in the game at least. And again, it's a pretty generic link 4.

My issue with the Nibiru search is that your opponent now knows you have Nibiru so they will be able to play around it. The whole point of Nibiru is to surprise your opponent so it kinda takes away from this when you search it.

Are you kidding dzeef? Desert Locusts/Hop ear squadron already has a home and that home is for battlewasps. Don't believe me? The BWasps have a intricate synchro ladder. (levels 5, 6, 8, and 12 to be specific) the level 12 is the best of the bunch which when hitting the field it banishes literally all insects in the user's GY to negate all monster effects on the opponents side of the field as well as reducing the monsters atk by 500 atk and Def AND if they break the board well..You can then SS up to 3 of your banished insects.

I can see HERO’s taking advantage of Hop Ear Squadron . They would have Cross Crusader in their GY already & can use Dark Law to go into Savage Dragon to have a negate on the opponent’s turn & their turn; all you would need since it’s an OTK Deck & Savage Dragon is a hard OPT . The biggest issue is how tight the extra Deck is for HEROS

Why would you ever use Dark Law to synchro? At that point, just use Malicious instead. Same level, and easier to bring out in the engine. And yes, the Hero ED is tight. Mostly because at least half the cards in the deck lock you into Heroes, so the ED is basically 90% Heroes. And if you were gonna bring out Savage Dragon, why not just use D-Hero Plasma instead? All monsters your opponent controls are negated. The only deck that would be bad against is Sky Strikers, but you can usually OTK them if you can brute force through their already weakened board due to Widow's limiting.

@@Bulleht Just run Tsukuyomi and Spirit of the Fall Wind variation. I mean it's probably not the best, but it can work reasonably well, especially now Tsukuyomi turning from recycler into searcher. I mean it's probably not the best variation, and kinda situational but it's an option. Or you can just Splash Morphin jar in any Rock deck for that sweet sweet "Draw 5 cards" effect. Maybe combo with Protector of the Sanctuary or something too, if you feel like trolling, and somehow make it work. If it does not work with Empty jar. Having a combo that makes you potentially go +10 is kinda worth trying to make it work. Especially if all you need is level 4 toolkit. I probably should do some deck building and play testing before I talk tho. Edit: Maybe the Blockdragon variation...

I predict we will get colossus in the near future as when they were released, they released other cards that were in top tier pure thunder dragon builds along side them

I got super lucky, and pulled two Imperm from DUPO, so it made since to buy the 3rd at the price of another box of DUPO. I was also able to buy Mining when it first came out around $20, now it costs way to much for even one, much less a playset. It's crazy how much trading cards cost! Unless they reprint it, I'll never have Phantasmay.
