I think the reason it's so strong on the tower is that it's zap effect is full damage, instead of reduced So instead of zapping a tower back and doing like 70 damage at max, it reflects back like 230 or whatever it is, added to it's own damage, while also stunning the tower It's just too much going on all at once on the tower

EVERYONE RUN TESLA haha! This is why people really dislike beatdown so much, rinse and repeat as Ash said in the vid. There really isn't much to this or golem. I'm not choosing a side here, just stating the obvious. That said, imo, I like chess-like matches better, quick cycle, where I feel like I actually need to outplay my opponent; where tile placement, timing, kiting, etc, etc matter. I mean E giant is just a strictly better golem, because it nullifies any form of counter push. I dont really see the repetitiveness of beatdown any different than I see a cycle player going to the same cards to counter the same plays in the same sequence all game. I honestly feel bad for giant because every other tank can do damage to things attacking it in some way.

electro giant is pretty strong, but like you mentioned it can be countered fairly easily (only if the opponent has the right cards). what i think needs a bit more attention tho is the motherwitch. she is SO strong right now, partially because of her recent buff, but mostly because her counters were massively -nerfed- "reworked" in the recent balance change (ex: bomber, bomb tower, giant skele, hunter). i think if those cards hadnt been changed so severely (especially the bomber) we would be seeing a much more balanced meta. for example, if the bomber were still the strong 3 elixir card it once was, it would be PERFECT for countering mother witch for a postive elixir trade while providing strong counterpush, and the old bomb tower and giant skeleton would be GREAT at dealing with her pig swarms and her higher dps. The hunter was a bit too strong pre-balance change, but i think the big nerf to his first hit made him much less effective at dealing with cards like the mother witch and egiant. now we are stuck in a meta with fewer reliable counters to these cards (mwitch, egiant, etc), making them so dominant in the game. often times, i feel like when people see cards that are strong in a meta, the immediate reaction is to nerf the strong card. although this can definitely help, often times it can be more helpful for the game as a whole to simply buff counters or provide more viable solutions to dealing with the powerful cards, rather than simply nerfing what is strong. while mother witch and egiant could definitely still use a nerf, i dont want the cards to rubberband back to a place in the meta where they were absolutely useless. nerfing them too harshly could do just that, if not even worse, and the cards would become unplayable and unused once again. great video and commentary as always, these are just my two cents on the matter. id love to hear what you think :)

egiant's damage to tower really isn't a problem. The problem is that it is what I call a problem solver tank which by its nature severely narrows the cards that can counter it. So unless an opponent has just the right stuff (which you can plan for because there's so little of it), play looks like this. You drop egiant. They drop 6-8 elixir to try to counter it imperfectly. You tornado it and all that stuff dies in short order, providing very little value. You've now recovered 3-5 elixir on your 8 elixir investment and still have a semi healthy egiant. The number of cards that aren't stopped by egiant tornado amount to single unit cards that have large dps like mini pekka, buildings, sort of stuff like pekka. A number of these solutions get solved by lightning and thus it is no wonder that these are the two go to egiant spells. Anyway, the damage to the tower is what makes it do the damage but the damage to the units is what makes it so easy to execute egiant pushes and why so few decks have ideal defenses for it. The solution is to decrease the reflect damage significantly. That way it will kill small troops as intended but neither tornado nor lightning will solve something like barbs being dropped on egiant and that a ranged troop like a musket or ewiz will get extra shots off on it after being tornadoed rather than dying in short order. Nerfs with this card need to not be in the single digits unless it is adding a "damage reflect cooldown" in which case that will also solve it, much to the tears of players who have instantly learned to use it as a crutch.

I think I might have a couple simple fixes to E Giant. It would be to do either waves of zaps (kind of like poison but every 1.5 seconds) rather than zap when attacked inside its radius or possibly taking away the zap on towers. Unpopular opinion probably but let me know what y’all think!

Unpopular opinion but I feel with the egiant diversity with different deck archetypes and its power on offense as well as defense they should either reduce the egiant zap range by maybe a tile or so or either make it 9 elixir cause some decks are just impossible to beat egiant ie:golem clone or most bait types. Heya, so I’ve been playing e giant for a while and I’ve tried pushing trophies but I keep getting bodied by overleveled people with hard counters like pekka, Tesla, or inferno tower. My cards are all level 12 and I can’t get far past 5400 trophies. Anyways, my deck consists of: Hunter Electro giant Ice spirit Electro dragon Zap Fireball Fisherman Minions Is this deck good? Should I replace Hunter with Tesla again? I wonder if I’m just doing bad recently or if I’ve had extremely bad luck on ladder. Thanks for the input!

If your cards are level 12 and your at only 5400 at end of the season you might want to change some carda in your deck. Like for example i have a level 10/11 xbow 3.0 deck but i use skarmy and not the 1 elixir skeletons cause at 5300 where i'm at people are using like double tank win condition.

Can you try and schedule an interview to discuss ladder? Its so beyond messed up with the matchmaking process. Keep playing the same decks in waves even more than before. It also never fails to get within 1 game of a threshold and you'll lose 3 times but the 4th time you'll break it but then lose a ton. I just had it happen to me to break 6300, now im down to 6000 and quit playing.

That is why I love ice bow. Use Tesla to distract the egiant, by the time he lightnings I have another Tesla ready. Then I can spam X bows if I need to, or else if I'm in a lead defend and rocket cycle him to death.

I think e giant is getting nerfed, I played 2 games with him lately and WON by around 300 or so damage in OT, BUT when watching the replay the egiant didnt kill the tower and instead the opponent took my tower. In both replays

E giant is extremely broken...its not so much the HP...its the DPS that's insane...you can have a full health tower and trying to kill it after 5 seconds leaves your tower with almost 0 health which is insane...its more annoying than hog rider or balloon
