I have both this and the Rev and that's in line with my range on somewhat flat ground, I get almost 10 miles on the rev and 15 on the etwow (both at max settings). You can limit speed on both and get more. The reason is twofold, the etwow has a larger battery (around 20% larger) and has lower max speed (22mph vs 25mph) combined with a much softer initial acceleration, which is the moment when the battery is taxed more. Having said that the fast initial acceleration of the boosted makes you feel much safer in traffic when you don't have bike lanes and need to follow cars...
@AlienRides5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your insights, and awesome that you have both of them! It is true that dual motors are definitely nice for acceleration in traffic, and also probably climbing hills too. Good to have more datapoints on range on flat ground for these scooters.
@_Digitalguy5 жыл бұрын
@@AlienRides they complement each other very well, I take the etwow more often (every day) and the Rev when it rains or when I know I have relatively long distances without bike lanes, or sometimes simply to have more fun. As for hills I don't have any that the GT cannot climb, although the rev can climb faster...

This scooter has been my main scooter since 2015 to now. the Uscooter E-TWOW's are very dependable, but I have had a few problems. Scott(guy that answers CS emails) and I have lost connection once and I just decided to buy a whole new scooter because I got tired of waiting for an answer. That just goes to show how impressed I was just by the quality of the ride. Not so much by the response time though.. How and ever, all of my scooters(3 Uscooter Booster models) were all pushed beyond 1300 miles on the battery. I needed a solution but didnt know where to start at the time. Now, I'd still say give them a shot. The ride of a Uscooter is invigorating, and I mean it. Front wheel drive and a foot stomp brake were ideal for me for a while. Now, I'm advanced and have moved on to a newer cruise style model, but the Uscooter still checks all the boxes in my book of reliable, quality scooters. Thanks ALIEN, way to show it off playboy💪🏿😎🛴

Great video. You seem to be moving along down those sidewalks rather swiftly. :) So, is this the latest ETWOW "GT" model? I've seen a Booster GT as well, so just making sure it is the same thing. A couple of questions to leave here. Are you familiar with the EMOVE Touring scooter? I was wondering how the GT model would compare to it. Also, does a carry handle come with the ETWOW scooters? How long does it take to charge the GT? Are these scooters airline friendly? Thanks again for the video and your time. Stay safe!
@AlienRides5 жыл бұрын
Hello! technically this is the E-twow S2 GT I believe, which is their latest model. I'm not sure if it's the same as the Booster GT, possibly? I am familiar with the Emove, I've seen it in person. The E-twow is much lighter and more portable in my mind, but the Emove might be better for long distance cruising for a long period of time. I would say maybe the E-twow is fine for up to 5 miles or so, then it might be worth the larger Emove for comfort. There is no carry handle, but there is a locking stem, and the scooter is fairly lightweight. I don't remember how long it takes to charge. I don't know any scooter that is airline friendly. In that you can easily remove the battery packs and check the scooter. I think you would need to ship them all basically. Good luck with your decision!

I believe this only has motor brakes, which are not as powerful as disk brakes, but still pretty decent. This E scooter doesn't get the online hype because its not really for the hobbie rider, its a true last mile transportation commuter, and I think they nailed this one with the specs, with the size, weight, and performance. The hard rubber tires are a plus for reliability, and this scooter has the added bonus of suspension. I bet E-twow sells a lot more of these than people realize, its just people who aren't part of the culture, and buy them for their utilitartian needs. Hah, well I love anything electric, and while the GT is more portable than his board, his board is much faster. I believe he was riding a Kaly. Both Kaly and LaCroix seem to be the two serious eboards currently.

@@AlienRides Ty for the deets. It really was quick off the mark but tbh not a true commuter pev more like taking your ferrari for a w/e spin 😁 I'm thinking about buying a NB Max cuz my budget is around ~$500 and I can get it on sale but if I had dbl the budget I'd seriously look into one of these. For the price bracket it seems to offer the best choice. Def better than the Unagi @$1000 anyways.

Looks like a great scooter! Is the rated 700w max or RMS?
@AlienRides5 жыл бұрын
Given the top speed of 20+ mph I am inclined to say that 700 is nominal wattage. It’s so hard to accurately measure the power of scooters to compare to each other.

Alien, so after this test -- where the scooter is basically 26lb of dead weight -- how did you get back home? did you call your wife for a pickup or did you use lyft / uber? serious question. ;-)
@AlienRides5 жыл бұрын
In this video I just called for an Uber. I could've also probably taken a bus or two to get home, but that takes a long time in San Francisco. I've done other range tests where I stop at a cafe and charge up for a few hours to get home though :)
@anttmann61235 жыл бұрын
Wow another great video. Thank you. Just wondering how comfortable was the ride? Were your hands or feet particularly sore? How well did the scooter handle the bumps?
@AlienRides5 жыл бұрын
I equate it to driving a sports car. For example, driving a McLaren might not be the most cushy and comfortable ride, but damn it's fun. The same applies here. Since it's a racing scooter you will always feel the road, and cracks and potholes and stuff, but the rear suspension does just enough work to keep you in control and riding fast. I can ride the Rion for several hours and be totally fine without soreness, but I'm also a fairly experienced rider at this point.

Hah, well you can't get around San Francisco without a few hill climbs, and most are worse than this. It is true though, I am very hard on my range tests, so most can expect to get much better! Still super happy with how this scooter performed, it did much better than the Boosted Rev, and almost as good as a Mantis, which weights 3x of this scooter.

I’m starting to become a fan if the reversed left handed thumb throttle, used as an over-bar index finger throttle. Eugene showed that trick to me, seems neat!

Guess what, these things break and stop working often. When they break, you have no service options except to ship them back to the company located in california on your dime plus repair costs. My first etwow cost 1000$, i got 1500 miles out of it then it died, the company convinced me to upgrade to a booster v and gave me a discount, another $1000. that one died after 1800 miles, I had to send it back 3 separate times to have it serviced and repaired. It still doesn't work right. All the parts are faulty, the controllers are garbage and made in china, they break often from my experience. I would never buy anything from uscooter / etwow again. Total garbage. Great when and if it works but IMO, too expensive for a disposable scooter. you have been warned. These reviews are nonsense, let's see a review from someone who has traveled over 3000 miles on one of these, you wont find any because they don't exist.
@AlienRides4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience with these scooters. You're right I was only sent this model for review and only had it for a few weeks. If they don't hold up for long periods of ownership though that's no good at all.

@AlienRides4 жыл бұрын
I thought it did pretty good for a commuter scooter, but a dual motor scooter is going to be a lot better at climbing hills for sure.
@hhy2k5 жыл бұрын
These range tests are super useless. All you need to do is multiply the voltage with the battery capacity. In this case: 48v x 10.5 Ah.... That is 504 Wh. The Boosted Rev is 43V x 8,5 Ah =365Wh so it will manage about 75% og the Etwow GT. The Xiaomi is 36V x 7.5Ah =260Wh is about the half distance with the same person. That's it. Half size person (your GF) manages double the distance! All other differences are negligable. This thing goes way over 30 km without those crazy steep hills. (30km with 30% left on the battery usually, 80kg person))
@AlienRides5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. I think there is definitely something to be said about the impact of things like controller efficiency, motor windings, voltage sag, etc that these tests can demonstrate. A lot of it might not matter until you get into higher end scooters where it really shows though.
@hhy2k5 жыл бұрын
Alien Rides I didn't say there is no point doing tests per se, it is fun to watch an all, but people should become familiar with these numbers, so they can have a fair judgements on the spot without even doing a range test. "My Xiaomi does 15 miles with me on its 270wh battery than the etwow GT will do about double with 500wh..." Somewhere along these lines... Keep on doing the vids! Great job!
