I retired ten years ago at age 59. I made mistakes in my life, but I own my own home and my wife and I are doing very well! Your opinions and advice are very good to learn, even at my age. I've been following you on KZbin for awhile now. Good to see you back!

Hey good to see you back been missing your sensible take on things. I finally retired at age 57, was debt free several years prior to that but really liked my job, so hung around awhile. I'll soon be 63 and feel I'm living comfortably and doing what I want when I want. I was fortunate enough to start work at a young age and at ground level to work my way up to a management position. I've always invested and watched what I spent my money on, most of the time what you want and what you need are far different from one another. So I'm going to continue to watch your channel to see how our paths were different or even similar as far as money management. The one area I fell short was not utilizing Roth investing as much as I should have, may be a topic to discuss sometime in the future. Pre-tax investments are good, but when you start to use it you don't get to keep all you thought you had!!!!😂. God Bless!

Chuck, that is some Dave Ramsey at his BEST! You even sound like him :) Keep up the great work because everyone can use the good advice you give. I'm 52 right now and want to retire but I can't find the courage to actually do it because of the income I would give-up while I'm in good health and capable of working a 9-to-5. I HATE clocking in to the corporate 9-to-5 job. I want out! Keep it up - God Bless You! Todd

I like how you said lesson 1. Know your Income... lesson #2 should be, know the difference between wants and needs. Example, If your refrigerator breaks down and you have to replace it. That is a need. If you see a new big screen TV that would look good in your family room, that is a want. Getting that new fridge is a necessity in any home. The TV could wait until you have saved the money to pay cash for it. One simple rule to live by. Learn the difference. That alone will save you money. 🖐🖐🖐👋👍

NEED AND WANT you are right.But i find many broke people get robbed in geting their needs,ILike spending 3000 for a furnace because the salesman didnt believe it was repairable..and its only 6 years old.Or getting roped into a 'duct cleaning" for 300 bux...then when confronted about it,since we will always defend our own stupidity trying to save face,,,,,will be mad at ME...all on credit.My wealth was built on building my own buildings...finding ways not to gwt robbed....and being tight with nameless companies but generous to the people helping me! If you want to be super tight,,,,,,dont screw your employees..round their hours UP>>>

Chuck, been a long time brother. Found you when you were just starting your Corvette channel, I ventured away as I found myself wanting too many of the same toys but they weren't in my budget. Like you said, with credit cards and plastic it's really easy to spend what you don't have and I find myself in a BIG hole right now. I've been focusing on cutting back and trying to put every extra dollar on my CC debt but it's definitely going to take a while to do it. Looking forward to your tips and new journey, hope all is well sir.

We all like new stuff. You're so young though buddy, now is the time to start taking a hard look at your financial future. Look at it this way, do you want to keep having payments or in say 5 years pay cash for everything and invest and retire early? Make interest work for you, not the other way around.
@sneakyturtle1122
@sneakyturtle1122 5 жыл бұрын
@@stackenali7059 I invest the 6k I can yearly in a Roth and have done so since I was 19, but it's hard to not make impulsive decisions. I love cars (I have a GT500) I love bikes (Have two new ones). It just seems like I can stop buying whatever I want and invest but my net worth doesn't grow. I'm trying my best and I wouldn't say i'm losing hope or anything because I live life to the fullest but it feels I am doing all I can do maybe have an expensive vacation or do something nice but can't ever get to that point without really struggling. I appreciate the information.

The Roth IRA is huge for young men like yourself. My wife and I have fully funded ours since 2001 and it grows like a fire out of control and as you know at 59 1/2 we could begin partaking in that but won’t but it’s growing totally tax free at 8-10% a year. Just remember everything you buy with a motor in it goes down in value. NEVER have things with Motors total more than half your annual income. That means you have way too much in things that go down in value vs things that go up in value. Believe I get it liking new and shiny new things but remember those things loose 70% of their value in just 4 years. When you think of it that way no bike or car is worth loosing that much on. Don’t be a salve to the banks rather make money be a slave to you. You can do it sir!! 👊🏻

So you have your home states CDL Permit so that will take some of the stress out of the Orentation experience. If you have never been in the military it will be the hardest thing you will ever have had to experience. You are away from everything you know and love, you will be in a truck the size of a closet with a stranger unless you already know someone that is going to be training you. It will take all your will power and faith to make it through 50k training miles, That’s basically 4 months. The turn over raise is 70% because most students are not ready for the huge life change they experiences at once. I don’t say all of this to discourage you but to prepare you. You have to go into this more mentally ready than anything else or it will chew you up and spit you out. If you are ready mentally you will make it. If there is a small crack with things at home or in you mentally the pressure of the training will blow right through it. My e-mail is Assurance2131@gmail.com. While you are there reach out to me about anything. I know several people there and will help anyway I can. Any question at all don’t hesitate to ask. Good luck to you 👍🏻

Find someone doing it in another state and meet with them over coffee and ask them how they did it and how is it working out for them. Then get on your states website and see what the requirements are for opening such a business. We live in the Information Age everything is at our fingertips. Much success to you Randy

A rule of thumb is your age in bonds. Or 110-your age in bonds. IE; 110- age 43 = 67% in bonds. Do NOT pay an advisor to help you. Plenty of resources online.
