Hahah! Yeah I know what you mean. I love having the longer bed on mine. I made this since without it, you need to buy a ton of parts! Figured I already paid for all these parts, might as well use them.

I got your kit and it's great. One question though regarding your axle/spring under flip.. I'm trying to do the same and I have searched and find some keep axle in same orientation and others flip it.. either way I'm running into issues. If I flip it, the camber is wrong when I flip the hubs.. if I just put springs under I need a "spacer" which is fine but it seems to bind the spacer against the axle tube... Any tips or something I'm missing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
@AMPROEngineering3 жыл бұрын
I think you need to flip the axle and then reverse the hubs. Nothing binds on mine but it will hit the steering link...not ideal but for what I use it for, it works well enough.

This looks great and my TF2 LWB is on its way. I ordered the extension kit. However, the link for the driveshaft says that this item is unavailable from RC4WD. Do you have an alternate recommendation?
@AMPROEngineering4 жыл бұрын
Oh dear! I don't but all you should have to do is locate any driveshaft from RC four-wheel-drive that has the appropriately yolk diameter's and length range. I just recommended the nicest one

I know,I know, I'm behind the times but I'm needing some inspiration for my rebuild TF2 for the 3rd time. The TF2 is such an old yet still tried and true platform.I have SCX-10'samoungst others but my TF2 with 1.55's on with a 7200mah2S and I'm set for a good 4 hr hike. I just wish there was more aftermarket for the platform. You can still only do what you could do 10 years ago with the platform aside a V8 option that will run your the cost of the truck to convert. Now look at the SCX-10 aftermarket.... in the words of Emeril....BAM! You can completely rebuild the truck into a daily grinder to a COMP1 crawler and all for less than its original price tag....as long as you stay away from Vanishyour money parts,altho great parts, over priced in mind. Anyways LOVE this video! I have just convinced my better half to enter the hobby so she's jumps in with a SCX-10 lll Gladiator. So extending my WB would be the perfect project tomatchup the rigs so they are evenly matched. Her LWB, 1.9, dig, cruise control, portals + + + + against my straight axle 1.55, 12.4WB...LOL, sounds even. Great video, thanks for the inspiration, see it pays to keep old content up and even more crazy if you updated the content on several occasions, then you'll reallysee your numbers blow up.. Thanks again mang. Stay safe, stay strong and let the ruts show the way.

I am also behind the times. Most of my 1:1 cars have 8 tracks.... I do love my SCX but it is so good out of the box that it is almost boring. I mean it just does everything I want but a leaf sprung truck is different. They make you plan your route and I think they are so much more detailed. The SCX3 was a good choice on her part though!
@jazzyjair Жыл бұрын
@@AMPROEngineering 😂 that's why i chose it for her and thank you. I ran the TF2 with leafs for 3 years, each year i change it up, stiffness, add a leaf, drop one, etc.. Then i wanted a truck that would keep up with evergone that i ran sith (1.9 & 2.2, but i still run my 1.55 so i keep my scale appearance and most importantly keep my scale driving style) so i had to go to a link setjp just so i can get the articulation i needed. I found running a droop setup on oversized shocks and few other tweaks, I have gotten as close as i believe possible to both worlds and have kept my scale look and driving style. Oddly enough i feel theres still mores to do... I guess that's what makes the hobby great right?!

I have no idea why that link (or any for that matter) is not working. It isnt for me either even though that is what you get when you make a link on the page. Maybe the site is under maintenance. Anyway, go here www.shapeways.com/shops/ampro and then you will find a section on the left (you may need to scroll) called "RC4WD Trailfinder 2 LWB" and in there you will see the extensions. Super sorry it isnt working through the link. email me at amproengineering@gmail.com if you have any issues.

What do you think of the new Traxxas Mercedes 6 by 6 and is it longer than the one you are working on?
@AMPROEngineering5 жыл бұрын
Well, I think the chassis is awesome for sure. I have the Bronco and it is amazing. As for the Merc. G class, I have always disliked the cosmetics so that skews my thinking. I would assume the Traxxas is bigger in every way. Certainly more capable.

Great video, thanks! Any details on these wheels? Do you make them? If not who does? They look like Cragar S/S rims! So cool!
@AMPROEngineering5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes I made them specifically to tuck the wheels of the TF2 under the body. As you mention, they are modeled after Cragar SS wheels. I also did a version on my standard cab Mojave to look like Libre wheels. In both cases, the bolt patterns are wrong since the 4wd toyota is a 6 lug and these Cragars are 5 (I dont like 6 spoke Cragars) and the Libre is 4 lug.
