When you collapse the pistons just use the old brake pad put the See clamp on it and you can close them both at the same time.

I just wanted to thank u. I have been fighting the wander in my 09 e350... new red head steering box, alignment and added a bunch of caster, sumo springs, rear hellwig sway bar, new bearings and ball joints etc.... I checked the bearings for play and viola... followed your instructions for tightening the bearings... road test felt so much better! Thanks for your video and God Bless!!

You can compress both pistons by placing the old brake pad on both pistons and using a C clamp over the caliper and tighten down on the pistons.

In the cargo van version of the Econoline, the wheel bearings are built in to the brake rotors. It’s one unit. It’s cheaper to replace the the rotor than it is to replace the bearing believe it or not. This is found on heavy duty versions.

When compressing pistons, can you use two tools of the same to collapse the caliper pistons?
@Revitauto4 жыл бұрын
What do you mean? Have you a link to the tools you are talking about?
@DragginNuts13 жыл бұрын
You can use the old brake pad to compress both pistons at the same time.

Did you mean red loctite? I don't feel comfortable using blue loctite on the 2 fasteners
@Omegatide4 жыл бұрын
They are giant bolts with like 60lbs of torque. They are not going anywhere. I never use locktight on them. All the exposure to the elements lock em into place good and tight.
