Engine mounts my dood... I got Condor Speed Shop mounts and it raised my engine (that gap between the wiring harness housing and the injector vanity cover) almost an inch. Shifting my 5 speed is much better. I only use the OE double tipped plugs... and I have tried them all.
@M3NACE6 жыл бұрын
the Bosch plugs? I have heard bad things about them. I would think raising the engine would make the job more difficult. I am looking to get a set of poly engine mounts, are yours poly?
@earnestbunbury21036 жыл бұрын
The trans mounts I got from Condor Speed Shop were called "poly" but the solid motor mounts were made of UHMW and were only 100 smackers. The old mounts were collapsed so that's the reason for the almost 1 inch rise of the engine. The trans mounts were noticeably softer but harder than stock. The plugs I use are NGK brand standard copper with two side electrodes that look just like the Bosch OEM's. The plug sits right in the middle of the combustion chamber, why squelch the flame with that single electrode? lel

Wondering if you could help. Watched your video to learn how to do cams in my m50e30 but my plug come out black after a short time.( Stock bottom rebuilt m50 w/ s52 cams, Pink injectors, 3.5 maf, headers-straight pipe-muffler. Tune that was ran with all the parts on a previous e36 m50 ) Problem - car runs good but can take some time to start. Accelerates through gears normally but when I matt it, it hesitates tell about 4.5k then picks up normally. I'm thinking it's a plug or coil pack related issue.....
@M3NACE4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like ignition to me, if the plugs are black you are rich and might want to check the tune.

Can you get any power by puting better sparkplugs???
@M3NACE4 жыл бұрын
Not any real gains no. Going from old worn plugs to new plugs might restore some performance, but you wont gain +10 at the wheels going from bosch to NGK'S. It will just make your car run like it should.

My spark plug in cylinder one is stuck.and I think the black rubber piece is stuck on that as well how do you think I should go about taking that off? @M3nace
@earnestbunbury21036 жыл бұрын
Needle nose pliers to take off that boot and it attaches to the coil and usually stays on it. Get the right size tool to take off that plug... e36 came with a spark plug tool in the trunk. Oh, the small rubber piece? Still needle nose, long needle nose pliers. Good luck
@M3NACE6 жыл бұрын
yeah like he said chase after it with a set of needle nose pliers. they are on there, but not super tight. you should be able to pop it off with a nice tug. if you break the rubber or mess it up somehow, they sell replacement boots. here is the part number in case you need it: 12131730412
@markosbiggavel88416 жыл бұрын
The rubber piece is from the spark plug tool not the coil plug

I just bought these Bosch (7402) ones that are copper for my E34 M50. I was about to go NGK but I did some research and people said stay away from platinum and get copper or iridium. Also stick with Bosch and NGK. Other than that, I don’t know which is best but i’m pretty sure either or is fine. But why are YOU running NGK?
@M3NACE4 жыл бұрын
because pretty much every speciallist shop/ performance shop and race shop run these plugs in their N/A cars. ive ran them for years and have never had an issue with them, never had one go out. bosch makes alot of really good stuff but their spark plugs are not one of them. my first plug set i ran them and one went out almost a year later, cold misfire. also worked on a newer mini cooper and had a plug fail/cause a misfire right out of the box. switched to NGK's and it ran perfect.

Good video but I would suggest using a small black rubber hose, perhaps 3/8 I.D, to fish out the old plug and also for installing the new ones.
