(I go to school across the country from where I store my car). Car is now running about 22 psi (from a 6266) and spraying a fuck load of meth. I am tuning the stock dme myself using romraider software

My cx racing turbo bolt holes are bigger than the holes on the RSI manifold.. causing it to move around , did you have this same issue ?

No clearance issues at all. You can fit a pretty big turbo on these manifolds before needing to cut the hood.

Did you ever had a pb with the oil return line beeing so close to the wastegate ? I had a braided line with a heat sleeve on top of it and it still melted the line ...

Nope I never had a problem even when the return line was touching the wastegate. Were you running a quality stainless steel braided line?

The nylon braided ones won't hold up to the heat. I eventually stuffed some exhaust wrap around the part that touched the wastegate, but I ran it without that for a long time

I did melt one line when it was touching the wastegate so now I have a piece of exhaust heat wrap in between the drain and the wastegate and it has been fine since

Hey Will! Finally got my bmw boosted! Just wanted to know if you're using an oil catch can? I have a good amount of pressure building in my valve cover. Car is 100% stock.

Awesome! DON'T BOOST without proper venting your valve cover!!! I don't have a catch can, I just have my valve cover open to the atmosphere.

When you have a turbo or any forced induction you get way more blow by (past the piston rings) which goes into your crank case and valve cover etc., and the excess blowby needs somewhere to go. When your pcv is still hooked up, then the excess air and pressure inside your motor has no where to go and will start blowing out your valve cover and oil pan gaskets

Hey did you had any issues installing this manifold ? My mechanic sais it's really really tight to the shock tower and it might now fit ...

It is very tight. What I did to make it easier was unbolt the passenger side motor mount, took a jack underneath the oil pan and lifted the motor up a couple inches and then I was able to slide the manifold in from the top. It definitely took a few tries and some wiggling back and forth but it will fit. I only installed like 5 manifold studs in the head and then once the manifold was on those 5 studs I then put the other ones it, It is very tedious and take a lot of time underneath the car tightening studs and nuts, but it is 100% doable. You probably don't even have to unbolt the motor mount, but I decided to do that to make it easier as it takes about 45 seconds to undo the motor mount bolt

To make tightening all the nuts easier you could also undo the motor mount arm (4 bolts on the block) and then you can fit your hand in there was easier to tighten everything. That is what I did

The corner of the turbo flange on the manifold just slightly tapped the side of the shock tower so I took a dremel and just cut out a little square (about 1 inch by 1 inch) in the shock tower to allow the manifold to move with the engine under boost

Don't get the cx manifold. Go with a quality manifold like the RSI

Not really. I still ran it with the manifold warped. When you tighten it down onto the motor it will still sit relatively flat as it will bend. (it leaked very very slightly but not too bad) You will really notice the warp when you take it off. I started with the full cx kit and started upgrading, but if I was to do it all over again I would just start with quality parts from the beginning. I do know of some people however with over 7k miles on the cx manifold without issue. If you are keen on starting with the cx kit, I would recommend using everything from the kit expect the manifold and wastegate. Get a tial wastegate and an rsi topmount manifold. The CX kit comes with a 2.5" downpipe which isn't ideal for over 400-450 whp as it is incredibly restrictive. When I switched to a 3" I noticed a very significant gain in power (at the same boost level) and the turbo spooled around 300 rpm earlier

How did you route the Oil drain from the turbo? I have the rapid spool manifold as well and it seems like the wastegate is in the way.

Its pretty hard with a simple an fitting and an hose. I managed to make it work by clocking my turbo a bit, but it is still resting against the wastegate. (not ideal) A lot of people however run a cummins flex drain fitting which fits perfectly.
