@LegitStreetCars This has to be my favorite channel on KZbin… I have been infatooated with E55 for almost 5 years! you are doing an awesome job with your videos and I can't believe I just now realize that you are in right next door to me, in Virginia I was just work in Virginia for 6 months at Radford BAE.... I live in East Tennessee, The Tri-cities area. It's crazy that we are so close together and, I myself own a 2004 E55 AMG Mercedes just like yours love your channel keep it up.....

Thanks so much Douglass. I'm actually in Chicago buy the sponsor for the car Victory Road Performance is in Virginia. Any plans on your 04 E55? Alex
@douglassenriquez4237 жыл бұрын
LegitStreetCars yeah actually I had a bunch of idea for the car b4 I lost my job :( but I'm sure I'll be right back to tuning it to the teeth once things pick back up. I'm a welder so jobs are kind of a come and go thing... just worked On maintenance stuff mostly so far Like new Arnott air struts and what not... but an old Acquaintance of mine had an S55 with 800 plus horsepower at the push of a button (all work done by APR)... That car made me buy mine, these cars are legendary as far as I'm concerned... you just can't get a better Combination of luxury and performance for this price As long as you know how to work on cars yourself.... good still the man in my book I have a ton of family in Oaklawn Illinois so maybe we'll meet one day. I'll keep you posted on my E55's progress.

The screws you used to mount the heat exchanger work their way loose as they don't really tighten up, I say this from experience having used them to mount an intercooler which eventually came off due to vibration, you're better off using mushroom head bolts with locknuts. .I'm sure you don't want to re fit the cooler if the screws come undone.

If you want to really have fun with these, especially in the 1/4 Mile, get a high stall torque converter, had one on my e55 and let me tell you it transformed the car

I've been thinking if the trans needs work I'd definitely do that. Where did you get your stall and about what was the stall speed? Oh and thanks for watching! Alex

Wow that's higher than I thought. I had a 4000 in my Turbo Trans Am, then a 3600 and now a 3000. How is it around town just normal driving? My TA was very mushy feeling if that makes sense. But it does have kind of a big laggy turbo too. Alex
@TheDato697 жыл бұрын
LegitStreetCars as long as it was in sport mode it was fine to daily drive, in comfort it starts off in second gear so it felt as you said a little mushy but the drivability was barely affected, let me tell you from a standstill the car would just take off
@LegitStreetCars7 жыл бұрын
Well you got me convinced. I'm going to finish this year off with all the mods I show in the mod videos I've done on the car. I actually have a trans guy that can rebuild the 722.6 so maybe next year Ill do the trans, converter and maybe just maybe a posi diff unit. Thanks for all the info. Alex

Hey quick question, I have a low mileage '99 C230K, and I was wondering if it's worth it to try to mod it or wait and try to get a C43 AMG. Is there a selection of mods at all for the W202 or is it a better choice to go for an E55?
@LegitStreetCars7 жыл бұрын
Personally I would not bother with the C230K. A C43 is definitely a step in the right direction but a 211 E55 even stock would destroy either even modified. If you dont want a 211 just yet the 210 E55 is amazing and affordable. Alex

I want to buy a e55 now. How reliable are they? Awesome videos and awesome editing work
@LegitStreetCars7 жыл бұрын
For an older European car that kicks this much ass they are not bad at all. Common areas of failure would be the air suspension (like any air suspension car), they had some early audio and electronic issues and it has an expensive electronic brake pump that can go bad. If you do your own work its not horrible at all. The engine, trans, rear end, all very strong. Alex
@Jasshands17 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for getting back to me, the sbc seems like another failure point and that would likely require a trip to the shop while I could handle the other issues. Would you pay 16000usd for a car with 68000miles on it, 1 owner, maintained at dealer? or is that a bit high.
