I want to gift you a quad-box ratchet set. You get four sizes on each wrench so you can get a full compliment kit with very little weight. Is your boat primarily metric or standard? Also anti-seize on all bolts before reassembly helps with reducing corrosion and finding frozen bolts the next time.

I have a hull paint suggestion for you that worked fantastic for me. In the North East, quite a few of the commercial fisherman were bottom painting their boats with a good latex based paint mixed with cayenne pepper. One, it’s much better for the environment. Two, it’s very inexpensive compared to the advertised super duper bottom paints. Three, it works and according to my observations much better then store bought bottom paint. I never found out the mix ratio, I just added the cayenne pepper until it was less then a paste that a brush could handle. Try a test area and you will be more then pleased with the results.

I have solar panels for my home in SA and they are German panels, as apparently they are more reliable than the slightly cheaper US panels or the way cheaper South African panels. 4 panels gives enough power (240 volt) to run a flat - great in a loadshedding incident - that happens all too often when the main grid is off line! However, I do use the power grid to power my aircon and the geyser for hot water. I do know of people who are entirely off the national grid but they use a lot more panels than I need.

Great video Holly, Jarne! My attention was drawn to the symbol on the bow of the supply ship at 3:56. A quick glance made me think of the International symbol for ionizing radiation (which is similar) but I knew that couldn't be the case. I guess it must be a bow-thruster warning symbol? I googled that and I couldn't find a consistent symbology. I suppose most people know not to dive around the hull of a large ship :-)

Holly's on a romantic endeavor at the heart of it. I mean, following the dream to cross the horizon into places unknown but imagined and dreamt of. It must be awesome for her to find a kindred spirit out there on her adventure, amongst the thousands of miles of solitude! Oh man, I sometimes wish I was her age again but I was never into this stuff when I was young. I grew up around water but the sea terrified me! My adventures were on land and in the air Now I'm older and I forget what I was so anxious about. The sea is as scary as any other part of life, it's just less forgiving.
