Here's something I've never seen a channel cover before - Boarding ladders and/or platforms. Dinghies - done, but the other thing for people without a sugar scoop or cat, never seen it and it's used EVERY time we get on or off the boat when cruising.

@@WindHippieSailing Fair call, and your still quite young. My last boat was a 28ér, but the current is 43' and a higher side in that scale [ Roberts 43 ] so it's more of a thing now. Just as an exercise, try pulling yourself up and over the lifelines as if you were washed over board. Add a bad sea or the need to pull yourself against a current equal to boat speed and..... you'd drown, you couldn't physically do it. Life lines should not let you go overboard - sorry for beig a Debbie downer [ I'm 58 ] but it will cost your life and strange things happen.

I often use ski glasses in storm to protect my eyes from salty water. Even clothes and shoes to protect skin and my feet in case off....Good luck. 😀🖐 🇨🇭

Most sailors use a filtering system (even home made Bahamian style) before adding fuel to their tanks as well as a splash of biosides.
