One of the EA devs is actually trying to get both GW2 and BFN supported again and start getting some updates out. I believe the dev is just trying to get the higher ups let it happen but is making progress. I would love to see both of these games get updates again, even if BFN is no we’re near as loved.

I think it's important to clarify something about the Veilguard: the quarterly report states that the Veilguard "engaged" 1.5 million players, not that it sold 1.5 million copies. The vague wording absolutely includes sold copies, but might also include people who returned the game, people who played it through their monthly subscription service EA Play, and could even include people who downloaded the free character creator but didn't actually play the game itself, if they were willing to stretch their numbers that far. It could just be market speak for the sake of it, but I think this is a sign that the Veilguard's reception was even worse than it looks at first glance.

What's going to happen is that the people at the bottom of bioware, who had nothing to do with the decisions of veilguard will get fired, but the guys at the top of EA (who decide what veil will be ) will get a raise.

This is how ET and PacMan caused the crash, BTW. Pumping up expectations so high that literally no amount of sales can recoup it's cost. Back then it was through producing more cartridges than there were overall sales of the console itself and now it's through astronomical budgets and an expectation to not just make money but make ALL the money. Seems this cancer of the gaming industry has finally spread to the brain and lungs.

I played apex in season zero was a regular player. Multiple heirlooms. But the problems the game had just kept getting ignored for profits. The battlepass going 2 a season pretty much was the last for me. I ent brought a battlepadd since and ent really played since. That battlepass change should not had happened

Veilguard, the game that was put on a pedestal by western "media". Lauded as "return to form" to bioware golden age. Praised for its great gameplay, characters, art style, narrative. Named by the Time Magazine as the #1 best game of the year. Whaaaaaaa. And EA can't even be honest about the sales figures. The 1.5 million number is "engaged player" number and it counts people who get it through subscription.

1.5 mil for Failguard is nothing for a big studio like EA, this was impressive a decade ago and even then its just "players reached" which includes people who playd or tried it out on their subscription platform.
